Since Lark got elected to CSM, how bout we bring up a whole lot of issues that he can take to CCP for us.
Lets start with: GATE GUNS.
Everyone hates them. They make it so small ships aren't nearly as useful as large ships in low sec. They also are a reason for falcon overuse/overly large gate camps.
Can't we just get rid of them?

if only there were some other place where things like this were discussed. maybe you should petition them to create a forum section, they could even maybe call it the assembly hall.

If only there was a subforum that was dedicated to piracy and those involved in it. Those people might actually support my ideas before I took them to this mythological assembly hall! Oh man if only, because it would be great to get some feedback on my ideas before I took them farther....wait

There isn't a forum dedicated to piracy, but you might be able to find some pirates in Crime and Punishment, which has a description like this:
Quote: Warn others of the latest scam, hire a mercenary to seek revenge or brag about your kills. This is the place to discuss the criminal elements of EVE.

Gate guns are gay as **** I support guns on stations, but having them on gates just discourages PvP. Unless CCP provides some amazing incentive to PvP off of chokepoints (stations/gates) then removing sentry guns would be an interim solution imo. |

None of this would work anyway as nobody seems to realize that there is more than 1 page to C&P, hence 90% of posts are just rehashes of topics dicussed ad nauseam.

Topics such as those this thread would precipitate in assembly hall get trampled post haste by the bears.
Good luck.

I completely agree, I want to pvp on gates in my vagabond and jaguar. CCP really needs to create an area, at least half of the systems would be there, where you could pvp without the worry of gate guns. There should also be objects that you can place up that would stop even stabbed people from warping.... if only |

I think you should be able to bribe the gate guns, or play some kind of slot machine mini game to turn them off like some kind of giant electronic tumbler like in theives quest or whatever that game was.
That would be so awesome

qft. Removing them might be too much, but give them tracking so frigs/drones got a chance to survive for more than 1 second after the sentries aim for them would be nice.
Also is bit a ironic @ goon making serious post and getting useless replies |

I am all for gate guns, but think they should def be effected by tracking. A noob in a t1 frig attacking a noob in a t1 hauler should be possible without getting one-volleyed into oblivion.
There is no point in people trying to pvp outside of war-dec/0.0/faction warfare until they are in a bs thanks to gate guns. |

For every gatecamp of more than 2 people, the only use of gateguns is that the pirates cant use small ships + drones. If they cant track them anymore (lol launching drones will make any cruiser able to perma tank gateguns easily when gateguns cant track them), you indeed might as well completely remove them, because then they only discourage solo pvp.
Or we just keep them in their current state so they do work. |

Edited by: Wang Jing on 06/06/2009 08:53:55 Replace the gate guns with a scaled, delayed repsonse from the appropriate Empire faction; response time based on the Sec status of the system, and the size of the response based on the number and size of the ships with GCC.
Why this is necessary: At the moment, small ships are almost entirely unable to PVP on gates, whereas a large enough group of large ships can sit on a gate forever. This basically forces pirates to form the huge big camps that everyone complains about, and means that once they are in place they can stay there for ages.
Why this is a good idea: It would allow small ships to engage targets on gates for a short period of time, and break up the huge camps that can be found on key hi-low gates, creating far more dynamic and exciting PvP in lowsec.
Note that the NPCs would not be CONCORD killing machines, but faction navies, meaning well equipped and coordinated groups could fight them off a few times before eventually having to run for it - Sleeper AI would be nice here! Now you have to finish off that silly freighter who jumped in without a scout whilst holding off the escalating waves of faction navy ships.
Also note this would only be for gates and stations, not celestials. |

It won't get changed if there is no discussion about it. But given the number of players who believe that lowsec needs to be revamped, with some good ideas and friends in the right places *pokes Lark*, perhaps things can change.

I would like to be able to engage on a gate in small ships. would be cool if maybe the guns turned off if your opponent shot back. With the guns working off the aggro system, this would probably be just silly to implement. the guns are not that bad. the counter being 15 minutes is the annoying bit :P |

Yes, I tell ya... nothing like a noob running into a gatecamp and getting splattered so some morons can feel proud of themselves. And people wonder why low-sec/nullsec is so low pop, it's because gatecamps tend to drive possibler PVPers away, or they get tired of ****ty pvp mechanics and don't bother. |

Good idea if you want to see 50 man gatecamps, so they can pop navy left and right, while still holding the gate...

And make the navy have chances to drop navy faction loot ;) Making money, having something to do while waiting for targets AND pvping? yes please
