I've recently was given a bookmark by a friend that is quite bizarre. The story of it's origin is something I don't have, so I'm even more intrigued, as to how it was made. Maybe someone here has some suggestions.
It all started with him coming hunting with me. In a system near empire that's your typical 0.0, Battleships spawns in the belts, nasty PC Pirates with all sorts of scary stuff (*Sheds a tear for his lost Megathron*). I was making safespots, hardcore ones that are far from in-between two planetary bodies, I'm bragging about my nooby yet ninja skillz. And he says, "You're gonna love my safespot, warp to me"
So I do. My cap cant take me all the way first warp. But after a few I realise we're heading in a strange direction. I look on the Sytem Map (F11 Map) to see that we're not going towards any planetary bodies in the system. I think "Well maybe he Mwd'd out this way or something". I keep warping towards him. After a few minutes, I turn around and see I'm now 500 au from the sun.
I ask "Where's the end?" he says just "Keep on going towards me"
1500 au.
At this time I decide to look on my map. Even though my corpies say I'm still in the system, and even though local chat states as much, the YOU ARE HERE icon on my Universal Map says I'm well on my way towards the Outer Ring system (This system we started in was in Syndicate).
4000au and I'm still warping towards him. It's been about 30 or so minutes or warping in one direction. And we start throwing Billions at any Pirate in the system who can find our safespot.
At 5000 au I stop. After screaming at him "WHERE THE F****IND? WTF IS THIS ****?" he hasnt answered my questions. He has to go to bed. And copies the BM for me. I contemplate looking for the end, but after that much warping, I'm not sure it even exists.
As far as I know, he'd never visited the system ever before. It's like he bookmarked something 10,000au away, but how? Wouldnt that take forver, even with the very best possible MWD rig running non stop for weeks? (That's my understanding - if it's wrong, correct me)
So yeh, thought I'd share the story. Quite baffled. Wondering if anyone has some answers for me.

what he did is looked up the solar system and kept it's location. He then use'd a pod and warped to that bm. In a pod, you will literally warp 15k au plus. So..no ship can warp that far in a few warps, only a pod can w/ it's extreme cap.

pods warp 3k au's with lvl 4 skills, in cap and warp drive op and they have a very samll cap, it's their negligible mass that give the stupidly long warp ranges

Don't they just. The one time I lost a ship to a player I somehow kicked off a warp to the system. It saved me from being podded but took about ten minutes before I came out of warp. I even logged off Eve a couple of times in an attempt to stop but it didn't. TBH I thought I ended up 4400au away from the sun but my memory could be wrong :) -- (Battle hardened miner)

ROFLLLLLLLL
At least I made u guys laugh.
Guess I better stop now, I'm 23,000au away and no closer to any hidden Jovian Technology Labs. (jk)
(Btw only been playing for over a month so it's something I easily missed, at least I know now : D) And here I was making BM's between 2 planetary bodies via running my cap out. How inferior...

if u have any ships stored at these bookmarks between planetary objects i suggest u go get them now cos they are very easily found. The "bookmark system and warp to it" safe spots are pretty much impossible to find and a damn sight safer than the ones u have already made

I accidently warped some 1000AU out once, it was back in the day when if you moved into a secured can it could bounce you away.
It was rather amusing to watch as the first 200 or so AU I was actually moving backwards, my ship slowly turned round and when it finaly stopped I found myself roughly 1000Au from the sun.
I had heard rumors about such a bug but had never really bothered about finding out if it really worked, naturally I bookmarked where I was but have not been back there since.
The wierdest thing aboit it was I made the trip in less than a minute and my ship speed never reached 1AU/sec.
Going back in was another matter, despite having a BS it took me a coupple of full length jumps.
