Is it just me or is the patch not downloading when it tells you incompatible versions, or will it actually start working when the game is actually up and running..
I've read through about half of this and seen a few people with the same issue.
not sure how this works as i'm pretty new to the game. |

Hey, only the planets governers can allow players to set up bases. Fortunately I have already been allocated as the governor for all systems in The Forge. Downpayment for land allocation is 100 mill. Send this to me in game once its back up and ill let you get first pick on any planet in Jita!
lol...u seem to me like the guvnor of Muppets
ps i have updated and apperently the client is NOT accepting connections...there are 6 players online?!?!?

Thanks for reading my rant.
That would be the difference between an "Expansion" and a "New Game", wouldn't it?

Bunch of arse lickers!!!
I agree with most that CCP are tring there best but I also agree with the players that lash out monthly fees wanting to be able to get some kind of compo at the end of the day if you payfor something you want it to work so you want CCP to do there job then again if you payfor it you want to be able to use it and it seems eve online is one of the few mmo's that gives free patchs that doesn't give compo out when something goes wrong we are not taking plex just a day refound to paid players our double traing speed for 24 hours this would at least show some kind of respect to everyone out there. I have played on and off for a few years now and to my knowlage there has been thess than 3 time where they have said sorry our bad we will replace the lost time yes we should know to set up training skills for 12+ hours and so on but does that pay for the isk lost due to not being able to rat hunt mine salvage and so on no it doesn't I have come back to eve and am planing on staying from now on but it's about time they did something to show us we are valued and not just screwed
No disrespect CCP you do have the best game out there but you have to agree you need to play fair when and maybe then people wouldn't flame 24/7 about down time if u set something up to say sorry as i stated above.
Your suggestions are good ones, and I hope CCP listens. But I'm afraid that no, people (such as the guy you quote) would flame 24/7 anyway.
Or like the guy who flamed because his favorite gameplay bug wasn't fixed, but shaders were improved. News flash -- the guy who writes shaders is not the same guy as the guy who fixes gameplay bugs. Not making nice shaders wouldn't get your bug fixed.
Or complaining about the AlienFX bells and whistles vs some other desired feature. I kind of suspect the vendor actually supplied that code. Or maybe some other deal, or maybe just some employee went and did it because HE LIKES HIS AlenFX BOX!
IMO, a lot of the people who who have posted in this thread are quite insane. At the very least, they assume that what THEY want is what everybody else wants.
But the expectations of raving lunatics aside, your point is quite valid. CCP's customer relations could quite benefit from an overhaul. It would probably even save them RW money. In-game compensation for unplanned downtime, and better real-time communication about status updates, cost very little to implement, but would really improve people's dispositions. But I'd go for both that and extending people's licenses a day for any day with > 1hr unplanned downtime. The revenue hit would be worth it. Even better -- also add a day to each side of the buddy program!
Folks, what CCP does is hard. Very, very hard, and very, very complicated. If you are not an experienced software developer, you have no idea how hard and complicated!
Hold them to a high standard, yes. But all this anger over a game with glitches is a sign of your own problems, not theirs. |

Hey I'm loving this, it's like Christmas Eve when I was a kid.
Staying up all night with all the excitement and waiting....only to be devastated in the morning when I unwrap my "main" present - and it's a pair of Roller-skates (2 shoe-sizes too small) instead of the Star Wars At-At Walker I always wanted.
Yep....just like Christmas when I was a kid....only my Dads not drunk and hitting my mother....or is he? |

lol well I've been a production SQL Server admin and I can't imagine how large their databases are. I bet every step takes hours.
Quite. Just changing a column in a large table can take an amount of time measured in hours, if it affects indexes. And to those people that think a test system will find all the problems you'll ever get in a live system - I say 'meh'.

It was 2 Gallente capsuleers that walked into a Caldarian Bar looking to buy some black market Boosters, it was there disrespect towards the Amarrian race that started the violence. They failed to notice the 3 Amarrian soldiers behind the titanium alloy screens. ôI saw it with my own eyes, it was total carnageö Concord did turned up, but late as usual and the bar was totally trashed æbeyond remote repairÆ ...myself and the bar man being the only 2 that escaped un-hurt. Later in the day we found out from concord that they werenÆt actually Gallente but Minmatarian mercenaries in some kind of clever cloaking device and apparently it was all over some territorial claim on some planets that were.............................

Name one. Originally by: carebear one the only good thing is that CCP' customers are players. If a company like CCP would have to compete in the free economy with other software developers ... hm with that attitude of the CCP-Employes and the thorowness they show every patch-day and the attitude the handle customers ... well they would be bankrupted on all the contract penalties they had to pay
Well I don't know what software world you're living in, but the vast majority of OTS software does not operate on contracts. You'll be telling us next that Microsoft pay penalties when Office is released a year late. Not two hours, or a day, or even a month, but a year. For people needing the new functionality, that's a long time to wait, but you know what? They just have to wait.
Welcome to MMOs. They all have this. Fans of a given MMO can try and claim theirs doesn't, but they all do.

CCP if u post information, ensure it is accurate! I don't care if the patching takes longer, just do as u say. 1800 UTC is 1800 UTC, so tell us what the estimated time of operation will be. You know it's just us, the paying customers.
You just need to look at the correct thread, they are at least keeping us updated with info here:
