whats more effective choice for a bs for l4s ?
4 armor hardeners (2 of each dmg type) and 1 large armor rep OR 2 armor hardeners (1 of each dmg type) and 2 large armor reps ? |

It depends. Are you trying to run both reppers permanently? Are you burst tanking? How much damage are you doing to mitigate the need for your tank in the first place? |

Can your capacitor sustain the dual-reps? My usual setups tend to simply carry hardeners to taste with one repper. But I've run dual reps on certain ships before with rather satisfying results, but I've also not had to worry about my cap, as it was a drone boat and had very little sucking the cap dry.
I would say play around with both, see what seems to flow and offer the best results. Who knows, you may end up running 2 hardeners, 1 rep full time, 1 rep for spot-repairs.

i used to use 2 hardeners and 2 reps on apoc. and my cap was stable.
i yet have to try 4 hardeners and 1 rep, see how much dmg i take with it. it will eat less capacitor thats for sure and i might need that since ill fly abaddon soon. but then it leaves me with 1 low slot less |

You're over-capped if you're running a laser ship stable with two reps. But that's another story entirely.
Have you considered three hardeners and a rep instead? It will be much easier on cap, provide decent tank, and actually leave some room for gank. |

I have Fleet Tempest that I have two large armor reps, no resist mods. Running ab+2 lar, it is cap stable. Works alright in most l4 I have used it in. Not saying it is some sort of great fit, it just works.
I don't think there is a final determination. There is some room for experimentation and then each pilot can decide which fit they prefer. Life is short and dinner time is chancy Eat desert first! |

I'm using:
x2 Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II x2 Mission specific Armor Hardeners x1 Large Armor Repairer II x1 Damage Control
This gives me 81%+ on the 2 mission resists. And decent resist on the others.
This works great in almost every level 4.
Only time I've had to warp out is if I agro like x15 battleships lol.
I've seen some other people post builds with x2 Reppers. Outside of being seriously cap hungry, also that extra repper eats up like 2.3k power. I guess if you got tons of extra cap and power laying around.

2 more mission specific hardeners will ALWAYS give you more resists than the 2 EANMs "7 pages of people insulting me - aka trolling" - Lady Hofstedar What s/he (probobly he) meant: "7 pages of people disagreeing with my terrible idea - aka trolling" - Lady Hofstedar |

Have you been smoking weed? EANMs and DCs are for PVP. There are MUCH better choices in PVE since you know what you'll be facing.

Sorry, but why not DC in pve ? |

Exceptions might be on newbie setups, where a DC might give a larger margin for error, increasing your chance of making it out with your structure smoking when you royally mess up. Maaaybe for rats that require omnitanking, too. |

Some missions do 3 or all 4 damage types. EANM's do have a place in PvE. The DC can go though. I'd put in a damage mod or one of those new Reactive Armor Hardeners in over the DC. |

Also shield setups that need some help avoiding ganks. Or just need a bit of oh **** insurance. |

i would go for gank!
my typical setup are 2 hardeners and one rep... ...the other slots are better for dmg-mods like heat sinks
or if it-¦s very tricky i replace one HS with the new reactive armor hardener... |

Having been saved by it many times, even in PvE due to overestimating my tank, I fit a DC2 to pretty much every ship I fly. The only ones I can think of without a DC2 are CovOps ships and bombers. |

the damage control in PVE question is a religious one: does god hate you enough to curse you with a disconnect or power outage while you are facing a massive spawn that has scram frigs in it? i just recently lost a cane because my monitor decided to take a 5 minute break while i was scrammed in a random lvl3.

I will always stick it on a dramatically new fit or hull when I'm taking it into PvE, just for the option of running away if I fail. After a given fit has seen some use I'll usually stick on another hardener or damage module instead, though. |
