Welcome back to the second episode of Meta Level 9k. In this episode I was able to get Akita T to be my guest. Akita is the second highest forum poster in Eve Online, has run a very successful bond, has a friendly casual corp and is a Market Discussion leader.
Akita was willing to share insight on Planetary Interaction, the Tyrannis expansion, the Eve Quarterly Economic Newsletter, and more. Episode length is 25 minutes.

Considering I usually dislike voicecomms even in my native language (Romanian), that I have very little practical experience actually speaking English (as opposed to writing it down, so you have enough time to find the proper wording and can correct yourself before you submit it - and then maybe edit it a bit later again), I think it went pretty well. If you can ignore the occasional pauses to think of a word (and then not coming up with quite the best one) and all the peppering of "ummm"s and "aaaah"s here and there, you might actually enjoy the interview. I'm also told my accent isn't _THAT_ horrible, so you shouldn't really need transcripts.

I had no trouble understanding Akita.
It didn't go very deep into any single topic but there were a few interesting comments and was worth listening to with some good insight.

It was initially supposed to be just a trial run, a rehearsal of sorts, just to see if we could understand eachother and get a feel of what we'd talk about, but it ended up being the actual interview, since we covered pretty much every topic already.
We kind of glossed over most subjects, true, each of which could have been explored far more in-depth, some small mistakes corrected, things clarified better... you know, it was live, no preparation, very general in nature, just saying whatever popped up into my head at the time (there's very little cut off from the entire Skype convo, which only lasted about half an hour total).
I'm not excluding the possibility of doing some other interviews in the future, if the host wants to, of course... but next time, on a specific topic, a narrower subject, and with some prior preparation (a small note with a list of things I'd want to address, for instance, that would be great for me to write down).

I am very happy with the way things turned out. I am still very new to Podcasting (this really is my second episode) so I am still trying to get a feel for things. Akita is correct, we were initially just going to speak to each other and make sure everything would work out, and then things just started happening.
I have some plans to be better focused in future episodes. My first episode was completely scripted and this episode had nothing but a couple of things I wanted to make sure was discussed. Now I get to find a happy medium and drive for perfection.
Akita, you are welcome back on the show anytime. I will be in touch.
Anyone else that would like to be on the show as well should contact me. I would really like to find someone that is knowledgeable about Science and Industry and wouldn't mind talking about production.

Very nice, I'll have to listen to it when I get a chance. In the mean time, although slightly off topic..

Nope, that's still Dark Shikari Yup, even with his HUGE "break" (gone nearly two years now), he's still ahead of me by nearly 5k posts

Looking at the numbers, you should be number one in about 328 days (based on your average per day count). You'll get there soon enough!
Unrelated - I finally got my forum avatar.

Wow, I'm impressed. Your written English is so colloquial that I had always assumed you were a native speaker. -- Killed me? Read about it in my blog! Northern Lights: Solo PVP in EVE Online

Hehe, thanks English is actually my third language (chronologically speaking, out of five, more if you count those I sort of understand but can't speak/write). It's just that everything interesting to read is much easier to get a hold of in English, and most movies and TV shows are in English too, so I actually read and hear a lot more English than anything else.

Good podcast, mate! Glad we're in the same 'business' so-to-speak!
Keep up the good work!

This!
I promise that future episodes will dig deeper. I am still getting a feel for things! I appreciate your feedback.
Next episode is in the works and is on schedule for this Sunday. We will see if I am able to keep things on fewer topics, but more depth.
