Dust 514 is just for PS3, you will lose many PC players. Dust 514 looks attractive, but i can't understand why you give up PC players. I play EVE, because I can play it with a PC. As a PC player I hope you can develop a PC version for us. |

It wasn't meant to be a PC game at all. So they won't be losing anything because they didn't develop the game for the PC crowd to begin with.
This isn't a bad thing. I think I'll enjoy the occasional orbital bombardment of Dusties. |

There are way more people that play games on consoles then PC. I suspect CCP wanted to cater to a wider and different market then just the PC. |

So, if you were CCP, trying to figure out a way to spread your userbase, what would be the cheapest way. Well taking on and funding an entirely new multiplayer FPS PC game alone would be quite an expensive endeavor for a limited group of interested players, but if someone like Sony was throwing money at you, that might get things moving in the right direction.
Throw on top of that the fact that the amount of players janked from Eve will be minimal. Once revenues hit a certain mark and the exclusivity arrangement ends, I'm sure it's possible that a PC version will be marketed. I mean they are shooting for PC size population caps and mouse support after all.
Only thing that gets me is, usually when a game is made "exclusively" for a platform, it tends to never leave that platform. Take for instance; Halo, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid, or Fable.
I feel there may be quite a bit more they will shoot for development wise in regards to connecting Dust to Eve before even thinking about a PC port. Bombardments are cool and all, but for some reason I feel there will be more interaction down the road. |

It is a FTP game, they could care less if PC players play it. If you want to play it, shell out the money for a PS3, or play Tribes:Ascension (another FTP shooter but on the PC) |

For the development of Dust 514 we are talking about the UT UDK tools which is the Unreal III Engine. So yes CCP can release this on the PC or the console. Its the back end that is another issue in terms of the database. There really is a lot of possibilities that can can occur on the programming side for the PC with Dust 514. I don't think they will rule it out one year after release. A lot of the console gamers are very interested in Dust 514. Eventually they will come to us. And eventually Dust will come to the PC. I hope this opens the Eve Universe to a surface crafting game that involves much more than we can do now in a sandbox sense. I wish CCP the best of luck with Dust 514. I will be there. And in space. |

So since they could care less where do they stand on the scale of caring? Because at this point all i know is that they could care less when I'm sure you were trying to say they could't care less.

honestly the most mature people I have seen have been no the original xbox, and the 360. PS3 is omg kiddie town and PC has gotten worse then that.
the good news is the kids on xbox/360 are usually centered around COD and halo only |

Moving furniture, for me.
I got my apartment all setup just right, I don't want to have to buy more furniture so I can rest a mouse and keyboard on it in front of the goggle-box.
Totally ruin the feng shui.
I could play with a controller, but I suck at controllers and fps games - especially ones which have no option for auto-centering of the X and Y axis, taking either an eternity to return to the central position (even though I am not pushing the stick in any direction) OR (even worse) not having any return to centre at all, and after I shoot someone in the head straight above me, I would find myself running along with a gun pointing in the air.
Incredulous this has not been covered off by CCP, or rather, the development team they hired in China to do the PS3 port.

Dust 514 is just another boring shooter. I shall remain playing Battlefield 3 valiantly where I can actually demolish buildings instead of static environment land. |

Actually, I am going to buck the common message on here, but I have been playing the Dust Beta and its made me sign up to EVE.
Works both ways.
And I dont understand why so many are knocking it, while one game is linked to the other, they are in effect totally exclusive.
Also, FPS's are very popular on consoles... I mean look at MOH, COD, BF and on and on and on. The difference is that a re-iteration of those games comes out every year, which the player base has to continuously keep up to date.
DUST is going to capitalise on that market and will also appeal to many because you dont have to keep buying FPS over and over and over every year just to keep up with the online multiplayer crowd. |

Hmm.
Not sure I agree with that logic.
A re-iteration may appear every year in time for xmas and stuff, but people still keep buying them, and also for other people.
AND...
You do get new players every year also, that have previously never played any of those games before - whether it's because they were too young the previous year; didn't own a console the previous year, or simply because there is nothing else to play [in their mind].
I mean - if I want to buy a new game, just for the hell of it, I might end up buying any of the games you mention just to kill a few hours at the weekend, where I can run through the single player campaign, eat some junk food and then forget about the game by the time Monday comes around.
Online gaming on PS3 I know is big - but I doubt, I seriously doubt, that the number of units sold is equal to the quantity of people who play the game competitively online.
Having a pure online aspect to your game DOES alienate prospective purchasers, because they "Just don't want to get into it".
If DUST 514 doesn't have an 'single player campaign' of sorts - I pity it.
AND...
You should NEVER attempt to pigeon-hole your prospective buyers, because all decisions regarding development and promotion are then ASSUMPTIONS.
Never make assumptions, or decisions.
Arrive at conclusions.

I would also really love to play Dust on PC cause i got neither TV nor PS3, and i won-¦t buy a consol for a TV or Monitor below 32". Allthough I really like the fact that it can be played with mouse and keyboard, so I wouldn-¦t mind playing it. It would maybe be the only FPS I would play on console.
But i think the fact that it is PS3 exclusive, is more a matter of cheap licenses and the fact that the Hardware in a console is normally 2 years older then the console

The only argument you have for being on PC is better graphics. the M&KB will be fully integrated.
Actually your argument is pretty much null and void since a big factor in making it ps3 was to not take away from PC gamers. Give the PC gamers EVE and the PS3 gamers Dust.
People like me who have both, will now be able to use both regularly instead of ONLY using my PC. I needed something besides BF3 for my PS3 to be fun again.
