Dear Capsuleers, As you might have heard recently, we announced the removal of learning skills. This is a massive engineering challenge, much like the ongoing work we test through mass tests. To ensure a smooth rollout, we at CCP do what are called ôUpgrade Testsö. These are full upgrades of a copy of TQ, just like how Singularity always runs a so called ôMirrorö of TQ. For our final upgrade test, we need your help! The why As mentioned above, this is a giant task. We need as close to realistic test-data as possible to ensure that everything will happen smoothly when this goes to Tranquility. And thatÆs why we need you lovely people! The how Very simple.
- Log into Singularity between now and Friday morning, 01:00 UTC. You can use the Singularity launcher tool to do this.
- Set a skill queue which will last AT LEAST until Friday 01:30 UTC.
- Over the weekend, log into Singularity again and check that you have received the appropriate skill point and ISK reimbursement. If it wasnÆt, file a bug-report and we will look into it.
But what do I get? Beyond the fact you of course will be getting the SP you have invested in learning skill back, we will running on the same principle as mass tests do. You help out, you get extra skill points on Singularity to use! WeÆre giving out 5 million skill points, on top of the reimbursed learning skill points you get. The criteria for getting these extra 5 million skill points, is that you have an active skill queue on Friday, 01:30 UTC. Very simple indeed. Please note that due to the sheer magnitude of this task, Singularity will be down for an extended period of time on Friday at the conclusion of the test, estimated around 7-12 hours. So the server might not be up till Friday afternoon. IÆm ready! Good! Just log into Singularity, set a skill queue that lasts till at least Friday 01.30 GMT. When you then log in on Saturday, check if all your skill points were reimbursed as expected. If they werenÆt, file a bug-report. Having done that, spend your newly available skill points weÆve given you on Singularity into whatever your heart desires and enjoy the weekend, knowing that the same will soon happen on Tranquility thanks to your help! As always, we really appreciate peopleÆs help with these sorts of things. So if you have 15 minutes to spare over the next day and a half, please take the time and help with ensuring that you will get the SP youÆre entitled to, come the impending removal of learning skills! Thanks in advance, CCP Stillman, on behalf of Team Yggdrasill and EVE QA.

Originally by: Martc What happend if i will be curently training learning skill? Do you count with that case? Can i put learning skill in queue to test this situation?
You can set any skill as training. I'll personally be setting a learning skill to try and break things

I have a bunch of learning skill books left over in the corp hanger. I will be hiding them all over EVE like an Easter egg hunt to make sure I still get reimbursed correctly. In corp hangers, in personal hangers, in anchored cans, in station vaults inside corp hangers in 0.0 systems, Etc,. There is a spreadsheet.

Originally by: streetzie May be a silly question but are these 5mil extra sp able to be used on the main server?
No, they will be on the Singularity server only. They will be available for you to spend until the next deletion and re-mirror of the Sisi database, which currently is not scheduled. I can guarantee at least three weeks, probably more.

Not meaning to be rude but how would 5 mil on a test server only be an incentive for us to stop our training que on Tranquility for a period of 36 hours or more? We can't interact with our Corp's Can't make any transactions or actions that have to do with the real server and then in 3 weeks it goes away. It's actually going to provide more frustration at seeing what one could have but with the knowledge that it doesn't count and won't be permanent.
Setting a skill on Singularity does not affect anything on Tranquility. Singularity is a "copy" of Tranquility, which runs totally indepdentently. So nothing you do on Singularity will have any effect on Tranquility.
As others mention, this is a very small thing we're asking everybody to do. It's literally a couple of minutes of work

Originally by: Assaj Ventress So these 5m SP won't survive sisi mirrors as other mass testing 2m sp gifts did?
Those skill points survived because the Mass Test Master CCP Habakuk manually gave them out again after the mirror. He did this because the mirror was so close to the last mass test (only a few days after) and because he's an all around nice guy. I'm not so nice and think about a month is plenty of time to play around with new skills and ship types on Singularity you don't have the skills for on TQ.
Remember, if you have all learning skills a V and participate in this mass test you will end up with over 10 million skill points to apply as you like on Singularity. Sounds like a sweet deal to me for only a few minutes work. Even if it only lasts for a few weeks.

However, do the 5mil sp go to the Tranquility server for our assistance in testing on the Singularity server? I've queued up skills either way, but was just curious. Thanks again guys!
EDIT: Also curious about the redeeming process :-)
The 5 million bonus SP is only for Singularity, to allow you to try new things on Singularity.

edit: courrier contract with learning skill book as well
Originally by: Tsabrock I just had another thought - people that are currently training learning skills could possibly end-up with the incorrect number of skillpoints returned to them. The overall skill point value of the character no-longer changes automatically until a skill is finished training (or if the Queue is paused). I think I'll adjust one of my character's skill training now to test that.
BTW, I'm also curious on how my main character's overall skill training will be affected. He's had all learning skills to Level 5 for years now (minus Charisma), along with +5 Implants. He'll be in that small minority of players that will actually loose a tiny amount off of his attributes (0.3 I believe). While it's a small bummer to loose any points from your attributes, the benefit of getting back all of the points from the learning skills makes-up for it).
You guys are creative. Nice work

Originally by: Tlar Sanqua I've done this with my main.
Series of quick non-important skills -> Eidectic Memory L5
However, it occured to me that the combination that I cannot test that I haven't seen mentioned yet is
what happens if I have training a series of learning skills (and at the moment of the update, these are active) and then a combat skill when the mirror happens.
So it looks like this:
Learning skill Learning skill <- Moment patch hits Learning skill Combat skill
Will the server automatically advance me to the Combat skill? Not very likely and I suspect that this is going to be a rare occurance, but i cannot test this on my characters and thought it should be tested.
It will advance you to your combat skill, yes.
