Nicky's Tomb

Edited by: Nicky''s Tomb on 10/12/2010 13:21:45 I grabbed myself a cheap ole T1 frigate and T2 PvP fit and went hunting for my first kill.
Found myself a Vexor ratting in the belts in 0.1, 2 years younger than my toon, barely a pup. Perfect. Frigate versus cruiser, no problem.
He warped before I decided to go for it, so I spent the next 20 minutes hunting him down with the scanner jumping through the belts until I found him.
MWD'ed in towards him, targetted him, was just getting into scram range noting he was already 20% into armor from the rats, but all of a sudden my sheild is vanishing.... is he shooting me? No. DAMN, 2 cruiser rats, point blank range are laying into me. I'm into armor, no reeper... son-of-a... warp out.
What does a man have to do to get his first kill, maybe I'm just meant to remain a carebear.
Worst is, I could have went back, but he was nice to me in local, so I felt bad and left him alone.

Fly a 400mm plate Rifter and don't be unlucky enough to get rats on you.

Attacking a Vexor in a frigate is generally a bad idea anyway.
Vexor's are death to frig hulls. If that pup had been the alt of a more experienced player or just old enough to use warrior II's you would have been minced meat.

P.S. Vexor, Arbitrator, Caracal...there are the T1 cruisers you should stay away from in a frig, but you did say he was 20% into armor already and fortune does favor the bold!

I can say from experience that those ships can be attacked with a Frigate and defeated. Risky but very possible.

I've killed plenty of Caracals in rifters. They tend to fly around with big launchers with low explosion velocity.

The one I killed had Assault Launchers and the battle went down to the wire.

I give OP benefit of the doubt. Tail was a purposeful error to point out what an epic failure he is. ------------------------------------------------- "Vae Victis" -Brennus |
