Dear Horizonist I readed every post about blasters and rails and Galente. Hundreds ? Ok ! But why it isn't fixed ? it is low priority or something ? I don't understand ? Thousands of PPL plays Galente they are potential customers, game sucks for them and nobody is doing anything !! Something is wrong. Very wrong. Imagine this situation in WOW or other AAA class game ! Can you imagine ? I can`t. So maybe another thousands of posts will help. I dont know... I like this game but I want to play race what i choose..
Thanks

Heh, so that's why in world of warcraft you also run around with the 'class of the day'
At least in EVE you can crosstrain your character to other ships, so you can be versatile enough to fly whatever is the 'ship of the day' - in WoW, you're stuck with your class, unless you want to level 80-90 levels again. Manually. *shiver*
It will be fixed, don't worry. But as soon as they fix this, there'll be another problem (e.g. "Lasers are too weak now!") - it'll never ever be perfectly perfect for everyone. ---

I fly almost exclusively Gallente myself.
I do not think you are being very fair. It is true that Hybrids need a good overlook, it is true that Gallente ships need tweaking as well. However, it is far from true that Gallente somehow are worthless and that the game sucks for people who fly Gallente.
Gallente have have the Dominix, the Ishtar, the Vexor and the Taranis just to mention an axpick. We also have the Nyx. These ships are indeed used, and they are very powerful, but you will notice they are so because they cater to a crucial area of Gallente combat philosophy - drones. Gallente is THE drone race, and continues to be great in that area, no matter how much Hybrids need rework.
So yes, the tweaks are still needed, but don't rule Gallente out. Stick with what is there until CCP finally does something about what is not - it will probably come eventually, I doubt all the large threads on the subject have been ignored.

Edited by: ScarredEye on 13/01/2011 12:33:27 yes, while I may agree hybrids are a bit over the top, gallente are not. It's not the weapons that make a race. even though it's the race that makes the weaponslol?

Well the problem i see in this is the fact that i was never warned since the begining that i was traing the most useless and underpowerd race of the game that need you to have all perfect skills in any area needed to fly 2 or 3 ships of this race with lolfits.
ANd if i crosstrain is not because i'm happy of what i have and want to try something else but just because i must if i want to have some fun for the money i pay in my subscritpion.
You can't imagine the surprise or the feeling you get when you can hardly fit something in your own race ship just to warp out every time, then you take another one's race (cane just for the example) and you can't even find what to put in with all the extra you get with. DMG is just insane, mobility is incredible. Not talking about myrmydon with scorch pulses or autos, it's ridiculous.
So mutch difference should not be considered has normal by CCP dev's, i mean, where is the point?

Gallente need a boost sure but they arent as bad as you try to make out. Plus if you cant find any gallente ships that are fun to pilot then you arent looking hard enough

It's exactly the same as making a WTFOverpowered Warlock 2 years ago, and now complaining they aren't as good anymore.
(Note, I'm not very good at WoW balance, so this might not make sense, but the idea should be clear) ---

Okay, to address each paragraph in order: 1) Balance changes all the time. Give it a year or so and maybe gallente will be ridiculously overpowered. As to specific skills...Hybrids have been complained about for a long time. A rework is well overdue (Blasters I don't know what to do about and don't even get me started on railguns.) and when that happens, maybe all those who trained in lasers will be the ones complaining they have sub-par (below average) weapons. Oh, and the skill requirements for gallente ships aren't any harder than the other races. Try training for T2 shipd for any race and you're looking at a long list in evemon. 2) "Fun" is subjective. If you find getting maxed stats and the ultimate isk/hour rate then yes, maybe thats a problem. If you just like flying something new then there's plenty of good ships to choose from. The taranis is very popular, especially for PvP and in my opinion the Thorax and vexor are some of the best cruisers for any occasion. Personally, I'll pick a frigate or cruiser from any race (yes, I can fly all races T1 frigates and cruisers) and just have some fun in that. The numbers are rubbish but its new and fun every time you undock. 3) The Myrmidon was the second BC I ever flew in PvE(first was a Minmatar Cyclone). Compared to the ship I was flying before it was incredible. In EFT it was one of the simplest ships I've ever fit (Literally, dual rep armour tank all the lows, afterburner and cap rechargers in the mids and whatever guns from any race you feel like in the highs. Add T2 drones and voila!) and gave some very competative numbers even with average skills for all except drones which were good. It's tank was topped only by the drake I'm in at the moment and can pull the similar trick of start it running and forget about it till the fights over. You can do a fit very much like that with most other Gallente drone boats and their gunboats aren't that much more difficult once you know what you're doing fitting-wise.
Yes, Hybrids do need a look at and a rework but on a lot of ships you can compensate with the true main strengths of the Gallente; thick armour and swarms of drones.

Hybrids only really suck solo. Gal only really suck solo.
Gal are really good in gangs, when the support is pinning the target down there is nothing you'd rather have on top of it than a blaster boat.
Seriously, everyone complaining about blaster range/tracking please consider that you WILL be giving up DPS in exchange. -The sword is only as sharp as the one who wields it. Drenzul (My normal internet tag) |

quit yer *****in or go back to WoW. You think blasrters are too powerful then cross train and put them to good use. I can fly all the ships up to BS for every race in the game. They are fine. Your charcters skills might be the problem. If you havent trained in the right areas you can suffer the affects of that lack of skill. You might consider looking in to that. You might find that once the right skills are in place the blasters might not even bother you.

There is nothing lacking in Galente. For PvP, Galente ships are almost always better then Caldari in stats. For various situations, other races are always better or worse then the rest. This doesn't mean Caldari are hopeless or that Galente are over powered. Every race has a style in which they are to be played. Learn that style and exploit it. But don't ***** about normal game mechanics. |

1 on 1 you are probably right. But you can just bring more people to the fight or go look for easier targets.
