Another day, the mantra of those that are not the Gods known as capsulars flashed through HenryGÇÖs mind. Yes it was indeed another day. The sights, sounds and smells of Amarr assaulted his senses. Henry worked on the trading flooring of the Amarr commodity exchange. Ice in all its forms or components was the item that Henry bought and sold. He liked to think that his efforts helped make the universe a safer placed but he knew that was a lie. A picture of a cog in a massive machine that did nothing more then handle the paperwork of the Gods came to mind. As he went about his daily shuffling buys and sells or puts and calls the fog of this vision shrouded his mind. It was in this state that an unusual request appeared. It was a memo that all trading of Ice or ice products was to be halted. Halted that was not possible for that would mean that the freighter fleets that moved part of the life blood of POS and capital fuel around the universe would be grounded. This in turn would affect the battle and production plans of Gods in the holy trinity of space. Henry quickly went on and read more of the memo. It seemed that several of the vast power blocks had agreed to disagree and war was on the march. As Henry read between the lines it was clear that the fabric of the universe had change with the discovery of a new type of reactions. These reactions implied that the economic strangle hold of the north may give way and that winter was coming. As he reflected on the memo the trading floor halted all activity and the sound of explosives could be heard in the distance. Yes he thought winter is comingGǪGǪGǪ. |

As he walked past the golden temple doors of the exchange, Henry realized he did not remember leaving his post. With a quick glance over his shoulder, a wave of shock swept over him. The grand cathedral to the pursuit of profit was slowly being destroyed. In an almost absent minded fashion he turned to face the ever growing sounds of mayhem. People were running past him with looks of fear and terror etched on their dusty and bleeding faces. Another explosion which seemed to be everywhere rocked the elegant government churches that were just down the boulevard.
Henry strained to focus and saw that projectiles were streaming down on the buildings. The destruction was growing ever closer as Henry felt a sharp blow at the back of his head. Glorious pin point stars came into to focus and then faded from view as he was enveloped into the blackness of space.
In another location the sounds of warfare could be heard as controllers moved the implements of battle in chess like fashion. It was in the background that a voice could be heard asking GÇ£Did we get him?GÇ¥
The sound of clicking metal and static filled the chamber and the answer came back GÇ£yes we have himGÇ¥.
With that a smile crossed a face that was scarred and twisted by years of fighting. The sound of a self-satisfied chuckle hung in the air and slowly changed into a deep an evil laughGǪGǪ

Henry heard the sounds of his childhood drifting in like a warm breeze swirling the images of the family kitchen and his Grandma preparing the morning meal. He could smell the bacon as it sizzled and almost laughed to himself as he saw Grandma pull his sister away from the griddle. Yes he was hungry and now that he thought of it that ice cold milk on the breakfast table would really hit the spot right now. As he reached for the milk a sound of metal shattered his carefully woven reality and a door openGǪ
The exchangeGǪthe shipsGǪthe bombsGǪmy head hurts. As the key turned and the lock was opened Henry opened his eyes to see a woman in a uniform watching him. It seemed she had been here awhile as she was slowly eating a piece of bacon from what looked like a hospital tray. GǣWhere am I Gǣescaped his lips.
Smiling with a hint of laughter in her eyes she said GÇ£HomeGÇ¥...

He heard the word home floating around in his head. It was a dangerous word that at once contained everything and at the same moment nothing at all. Such words tend to start wars and drive men mad. While thinking about madness, Henry looked around the room. For the moment the woman chomping on the bacon was forgotten. The walls were covered with tapestries and the floor was reinforced steel that had been polished. This had the look and feel of his most recent home. He attempted to get out of bed and found that he seemed suddenly weak.
At once the bacon woman came into view and was at his bed side. GÇ£You need to rest. You suffered a blow to the head from some of the falling debris.GÇ¥ Her smile had winced when she talked about the debris.
That small change to her smile turned a switch in HenryGÇÖs mind. How nice that she is worried about me was the only translation that was forthcoming. GÇ£I guess it is you I have to thank for me being back in my home?
The smile was back and he now noticed the bacon in her hand. GÇ£Well I am just the one tending to you. My friends saw the attack and were able to help you. We only wish we could have helped more.GÇ¥
Those words hang in the air. Henry started to think about why they had saved him. Why there was an attack in an area that was safe. In fact it would have been suicidal. The attackers had to be dead. Then what was so valuableGǪwhy was he here?
She smiled again as HenryGÇÖs eye betrayed him. He had made the leap. Somehow this seemingly average man had figured out that the whole attack had been about him. GÇ£You are quite remarkable. In you present state to make that leap. Yes quite remarkable.GÇ¥ With that she turned and walked towards the door. GÇ£I will have a fresh breakfast brought to you. I have this fondness for bacon and waiting is such hungry work.GÇ¥
With that she left the room. His mind was clearing and fear was put into the box. As the lid clicked close, he could feel his mind sharpen and focus. The only question he had was how had they found out.
