Not sure if anyone has noticed ?
When multi boxing holding ctrl key to traget is delayed and you have to do this on each client. Click somewhere on each client then wait 1 - 2 seconds while holding ctrl.
Its crap :)
Please fix

This is not a client issue, but the way that Windows defaults in interaction between windows.
I do not remember the setting that changes this, but there have been plenty of threads about it. ------------------------------------- The system issues man. |

Same problem here. Only i dont have to wait very long, I just release CTRL and then press it again for it work immediately.

The problem here is that the old "lock target" functionality was not a proper shortcut but a hardcoded check to see if CTRL was being held down when clicking. With the introduction of combat shortcuts (one of which being "lock target") the client needs to catch an OnKeyDown event for the shortcut to work. This sadly has the side effect that multi-client targeting requires releasing CTRL, setting focus to the client, and then pressing CTRL again. I'm sorry to say that this is not likely to get fixed since programmers must be allowed to assume that the client has focus while a given feature is being used.

Edited by: Jenny Starlight on 16/02/2011 20:04:31 Nomatter how many long wanted features and fixes the devs do, this issue will never be compensated away.
This functionality to never release ctrl is critical to any multi-account user, we rarely have the client we want to use in focus. Hope for the best, assume the worst. Why go for "one player, one account" and nerf all hardcore or serious players with multiple accounts?
Isn't it possible to leave this single hotkey hardcoded? Its the only one that messes things up. I mean only the targeting, ctrl + left mouseclick.
Because after you have targeted which is the primary thing you want to do without focusing the window, you have window in focus, and all the other hotkeys shall work as intended with the allowing devs to assume the client has focus thing.
You need to find a middle ground between the devs and the actual players of the game.

maybe a checkbox to select the old, hardcoded, or new way of alt-key-handling?

So, why not use modifier key up/down events for displaying the UI overlay, which is nice but not critical, and check for held keys on mouse button up/down events? Alt-tabbing does not seem to be the only time that the control key is ignored.
