New children's series VilleActif! on FedKids has received a positive reception from parents across the nation, the first few episodes holding record audience numbers for its timeslot before school hours. Starring actress/activist Anette Inhonores, Brutor-Gallentean sports star Oguko Monatave and newcomer Virrent Cesattene, VilleActif! advocates the importance of good health and fitness, aimed at children of primary and early secondary school age. Backed up by a supporting cast of cartoonish androids, VilleActif! is broadcast three times a week at 0700EST spaceside, parents are already lining up to purchase all-new sports merchandise associated with the series.
Set on a fictional sky colony, Luna (Inhonores) is a sporty young girl who arrives in VilleActif to stay with her aunt, Director Dale, administrator of town. She meets Ikanos (Monatave), head of the local sports center who always keeps an eye out for the safety of his fellow citizens. They are joined by Alailon, a techkid who never leaves his drones, the always-studying Hadeene, the clumsy food lover Mivent and the overadventurous Slie, who always finds herself in some form of trouble. The gang team up against the nefarious deeds of Gaull Ghastly (Cesattene), the archnemesis of Ikanos, intent on seeing the denizens of VilleActif fall for his latest schemes to keep them indoors and guzzling unhealthy foods. Song and dance is commonly used by the superactive cast, encouraging good sportsmanship,a healthy lifestyle and the importance of friendship. Ikanos and Luna frequently try out new games and sports, instructing the audience on how to abide by the rules properly and play safely.
Curiously, the new series has proven popular amongst an older audience, particularly university students at Caille and Hedion, amongst other institutions. Various musical numbers have been distributed across GalNet, mashed up with existing songs by popular artists. One vid, that is a mashup of "Playing by the Rules" and Stardog's "Rock the 'roid", has received fifteen billion views alone, with several other vids trending. When asked as to why he thought VilleActif! became a sudden phenomenon amongst young adults, Oguko Monatave said that "The show is colourful, the music is great...what's not to like?". Critics and child development specialists have praised Anette Inhonores' role as Luna, one review saying how the character "may be a stereotype, but provides a good role model for children, on top of Anette's activities outside acting".
The first series of VilleActif! will run for 8 weeks, for a total of 24 episodes.

The Federal National party supports this sort of thing. With the current generation of youth becoming overly reliant on drones to do an increasingly large number of physical tasks, we are at risk of raising a generation of fatties.
It doesn't help, of course that greasy, deep-fried Caldari take-away food has become readily available on many street corners, and that this plus the ubiquitous can of Quafe has become the diet of many a young Gallentean male, as well as the Matari underclasses of our cities.

I'm guessing Monseiur Montave was being politically correct; we all know this show is a buggin' insane watch when one is juiced to the eyeballs on boosters.
So I've heard, anyway.

Hm. Might get one for my planetside family. At least I would finally get to see Anette in action. |

"the nefarious deeds of Gaull Ghastly (Cesattene)" undoubtedly cast to engender anti-Caldari racial stereotypes. |

Edited by: Kimochi Rendar on 27/07/2011 13:09:02 I caught a couple of minutes of this while channel-hopping the other day. Kids shows aren't really my thing but I will admit that some of the music from this is pretty catchy.

Perhaps you should watch and see for yourself before jumping the gun and fanning flames that aren't there. I have no kids, and personally I prefer Mannar soaps when I drop a blue pill or two, but I'm sure this show is age appropriate and propoganda free.

I for one support this kind of show.
It would be foolish and rash to claim that such a show was spreading Federation Propaganda throughout its youth. Encouraging strength and good health amongst the young populations through appealing means should be applauded.
