Edited by: Ek0 on 02/08/2011 20:12:51 Since long enough time ago, many of us already have this merging idea, and have been longing for it. Comparing with World Of Warcraft and some other Japanese and Korean mmo, EVE is not a very popular game in China. But we still have many loyal players. We feel like being abandoned, 3000- people flying around the whole universe, you can barely see a stranger during your trip. No corp fight no war, maybe some but not much, sometime ppl are just start fighting because some retar-ded reason because it is too boring. Losing a ship or being pod-kill is not painful, money isnt a problem here.
The FACT is, our monthly fee is 5-6 USD only, according to the number of max online player(around 4000), I could say EVE china is losing money--one way! Dont see a point why is still holding there. Here are some topics people may bring up again why there is no merging between these 2 servers: 1. Chinese goverment is very restricted.----That's not a problem, we already have games connected to the internetional server, like war of warcraft on the battle.net, City of heros, etc. 2. Great fire-wall?-----At least Tranquility is not blocked, we can use the international eve client, not with proxy! 3. The market will be smaller due to most chinese dont speak english.-----That's a big problem if they dont have chinese client, which it already exist. People will start learning if they want to win the war, win the game. 4. Pod-kill is NOT allowed because the goverment claims we have a harmonious society?----That's just not ture! Pod-kill happens.
Here is my point, the most possible situation is about the EVE economic system. The economic system here is too massive, how to merge the players space property, bringing some new solar system in? the location and the transport connection might be a problem. Just want to see if anyone have any sulution, or any new problem havent been considered.
Free talk guys, not mad about calling us chinese farmer or some other nick names~~ cuz come of us really are, but most of us just wanna enjoy the game

If you guys want to play on TQ.. get an account here. You said you can acces the international client, reckon you can also acces the billing site then.
No merge will happen, The economy on serinity is too far off the one on TQ. the only way i could see this happen is just char transfers(as in just the toon, no isk or assets) but even that I dont see happening.

yeah a separate server just for china seems a bit silly if you guys can play other western mmos. and i doubt an extra 3k players would tip any scales on tranq.

Love this.
But I would embrace the chance to kill our Chinese internet warriors.

I'm tempted to run c-eve and play there because having a lower number of players online actually appeals to me greatly.
Also, all the tedious spam will become magical and mysterious space language because I won't be able to read a word of it without an online translation tool!
I know pod-killing is frowned on over there, and for some reason so is warp scrambling.
I wonder how they feel about market scams? Since that is how I would be funding my playtime and spaceships.
Also, shame you still have learning skills but at least you won't get sitting in quarters until it's hopefully smoothed out some. ~~~

3K players... *Sigh* now theres something one could long for...
It does remind me of the times i was mining in a 0.6 backwater system, somewhere in Amarr space (forgot what it was called, it's been 5 years ago ) i didn't see anyone else for days.
It really felt like... beeing in space...
Mining for days on end, having to defend myself against those pesky npc's, sometimes with a few corpies... then refining and returning the ore in several hauler trips back to a more populated system to sell it.
I am not ashamed to say that i would like to return to those days again sometimes. ________________________________________________

The OP is a tool.
The main attraction to playing on the Chinese server would be exploiting their parochial game play for personal gain.

the only way this will happen is if the character ( skills only, no isk, or assets) is transfered to TQ, then basically u start from scratch, the problem is at the same exact time c-eve will have to shut down, because if it isnt people will character farm with the cheaper prices.
i think the better idea, is not to merge TQ with c-eve, but to get more chinese into playing eve so its bigger.. or, just come over to TQ...

behold! they start first with the one-china policy, now the one-server policy
and i agree with above that if there is a merge, no assets, isk or sov nothing can be crossed over, only characters and skills

It's not because of CCP that there is a separate Chinese server, but because of the Chinese govt. Fix your govt and you likely wouldn't have to play on a separate server.
aside from that, be careful what you wish for, more players isn't always a good thing. TQ sucks in many ways.

They don't want to start over though. Imagine if you were being asked to completely start over on another server. Don't count on an account converter either. CCP contracts out another company to run Serenity and they probably wouldn't be too fond of this merge idea and help migrate accounts. ==================== ~/~ Sultan of Buruni |

Not just that but you cannot just merge the two servers. For one, eve china is one or two expansions behind TQ. On top of that, RMTing is much more rampant and due to the small server size the economy just can't be compared to that of TQ.
And even if you were to transfer characters, skills, ISK, items and ships, people would still lose POS's and sov.
While not ideal for the chinese, the easiest fix is simply for them to start new on TQ if indeed they are able to do so.

I'd support a char transfer for a fee, many games have those and a chinese only server seems silly these days.
I don't know how assets or such would work, but to be fair, only your chars count, all the rest can be earned back. - Hilmar getur ekki tala= vi= ¦ig n·na, hann er a= fara ß japanska Tfskuverslun.

I can see assets transfer, provided the assets of a character are capped to some balanced level. For example a one year old character could bring over an amount of isk equal to the average assets of a one year old TQ player.
But corps, alliances, POSes, sov, all could not be transferred
Do most Serenity players want a merge?

worst. idea. ever.
You want to play on TQ? Fine. More meat for the grinder. You and your skills can come over. But sparkle-pony-isk ain't worth a fraction of TQ isk.

Edited by: Litair on 03/08/2011 21:41:34 Yes I agree that transfering the assets and monies would be a somewhat bad idea. Would be nice to have the players though.. players = opportunities, no matter if you're a pirate, trader or mission runner. As for their general lack of english skills, well we already have the russians and they seem to manage.

i know this isnt right but think about this situation if they kept their assets..
Lets say a freighter in C-eve was only 200mil isk? they buy 50 freighters then transfer over.... they now profit over 400mil x 50 freighters what about plex? since subscrptions are cheaper in C-eve its safe to assume plex price is cheaper. im sorry but i dont want 5000 new plexes to flood the market at 1 time

So you have your own server, and its a flop. Just like Chinaside (chinese planetside). When they finally pull the plug on serenity you will just move over to this server. Go ahead and start moving now =/

The only way people on the Serenity server will be allowed to play on TQ is if the Chinese government is put out of business. Sorry, but this is fact, they are the ones pulling the strings and as long as you live in their country, they will not allow outside influences in.

There is one concept I have long thought possible, and would love to see it implemented - a link between TQ and Serenity.
That could be the "other" space, with visits having a minimum period of a week to "jump" between the two (to allow DB syncs) - or possibly fly into a WH and you exit on Serenity. The space would be familiar but the occupants would not. I can dream
