imo a guy choosing a female char is kinda like the online style of crossdressing. for some its a bit disturbing others its a way of life. its not my bag baby. for a women to do it, its hot, i dunno why but they were born with a pair of tech II win buttons and thats just the way it goes.

IF THIS IS NOT THE HEIGHT OF WIT THEN I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS
I don't understand why blokes do choose to play as women, but I wouldn't go so far as kicking someone from a corp simply because they chose a female avatar. Seems to me you have some sort of deep-rooted problem when it comes to the opposite gender......
Like,in: "Hay guys, I ma here. Can I join your corp LOL!???"
I don't get it
Bottomsided problems aside I do understand the difficulty of understanding the concept of bottomsided problems. Being on the other side implies playing EVE in clothes you wouldn't wear at work (and I am not referring to expensive LARP garments).

I really don't care what others think, I have 6 toons, 3 male/3 female. When a guy starts trying to "play nice" first thing I say is "i'm a dude. get over yourself"

You gotta be kidding me . Has everyone forgotten this is an mmoRPG. Even though most of us dont really speak In-Character we still role-play to an exctent. I'm a CEO of a Corporation in a galaxy far far away . Is playing as a female character really such a stretch. The only negative thing i can really say abou this is when ppl try to mislead you as to their true sex. Ever meet that female corp member on TeamSpeak and realize her voice is a little deep .

all my alts are hot caldari women..
I think I read somewhere that less then 1% of eve players are truly female.. honestly, I have no problem with males playing female characters. It's just a game.. your sex in game doesnt' mean anything to me. ________

The subject of cross gender characters comes up in all roleplaying game formats not just in MMORPGs, going right back to the original Dungeons & Dragons (I know cos I have a review copy of D&D first edition OK?).
Most players only play their own sex because it doesn't occur to them to do otherwise.
A minority sometimes play the opposite sex because it doesn't occur to them to do otherwise. They might say "oh it's roleplaying" but really they know that people who think otherwise have unresolved sexual hangups.
A smaller minority know that players who cross gender are weird/perverts/peculiar in real life. Elves, dwarves, furry things from Alpha Centauri they are happy with but not the opposite sex. They are, in my experience, usually not roleplayers. Their characters are not characters but themselves.

i think the answer to this question is easy, Females = Damn sexy Males = Not so sexy
The portrait you see most often, and not to mention the biggest, is your own. When it comes down to it, i rather be looking at a sexy chick than half the rumple-stiltskin characters we have here... no offense. Do you imply i am homosexual because i like the way women look?

Well just because somebody chooses to play a tyrant dosnt mean they are a tyrant in real life.
Its just like saying "All miners who dont mine in rl is wrong".
Its a game and a roleplaying one at that, you choose your own direction to have as much fun as possible, if that choice is to be a woman I hope they have fantastic luck.

Males who play as females in any game on the internet are just looking for trouble, I tell you that. If ever I know that person in real life I'm gonna rag him through and through... Oh wait I know of a friend who liked to nurse damn hot sexy chicks in Sims 2 but that doesn't mean he's pervert, and he's got a wife and a dog too; quite the family guy. Well, he is kinda addicted to Hentai stuff (**** drawn-up, nothing wrong with that) as far as I know. Hmmm, is this all related? I sneered at him but he plays a male Tauren in a recently acquired Wow, and in Morrowind he used to be a brute Orc wielding axes and hurling fireballs so I thought okay he's straight, and I never imagined him wearing girl clothes (except now mind you, ewwww that's not a hot sight), he's rather the rough type. It's not a geek thing either, and I don't believe it when when you state that 99% of Eve players are guys; as a matter of fact the first person I met in Eve was a girl. But you're right if you think that most guys lack willpower in front a female, and online games are no exception.
[That's a funny thread, bump it up!]

Men have good reasons to play a female character, whether they roleplay a female is another thing.
But guys, dont believe it when someone says they are female if you have not heard them on ts, its so easy to say your female and talk about shopping and nearly every body hopes it's true.
until ts all 'girls' are guys - if you want to play it safely
This is not a hijack

Totally disagree with what your saying dude, totally disagree 100%
this is a game and the coolest thing about an online game is you can be whoever or whatever character you choose to be, an online game should have absolutely nothing to do with real life. I dont think its weird if a guy chooses to play a female character in eve, its called role playing. Doesnt bother me at all because I treat everyone in eve the same wether they have a male or female character and I never ask their real life gender... it just seems silly lol
if I actually become what I'd call freinds with someone from eve then I might find out if they are a male in rl or a fem and it still wouldnt bother me either way.
completely agree with the qouted post . At the end of the day its a game, shouldnt matter, be what you want and play the game. If you have issues maybe you should look at yourself. The only reason you would have issues with it is because you find yourself attracted to ingame character personalities.
I am minmatar, doesnt mean i am a slave (debatable) and drive a car which came straight from a scrap yard (lets face it, thats what all minmatar ships are comparable to). Sexuality shouldnt even matter, my main is male, my alt is female just cos its something different, doesnt change the way i speak or play the game at all.

My offline persona is unimportant in eve.
If I choose to 'role play' a male character, so be it.
Sounds to me like youre just ****ed off because you dont know who you can hit on.

Oh that is irony so sweet I love it!
By the way, nothing wrong with male playing as female. Or vice-versa for that matter. What is strange is that people think that gender is really an issue. Is a male player any different from a female player? What does it really matter who's behind the face?
For all you know I could be the girl of your dreams.

I have a male and a female character, who the heck cares what I am in real life. When I started my mail character I had to work hard to get things. No hand outs.
Later on I started my female character to take on some tasks I wanted to get into but couldn't be bothered to train for with my main character.
People wanted to recruit her, hit on her, send her ISK which I send back and explained she was a selfsufficiÙnt woman. I got convo's on her from people I didn't even know, some even blunt asking if I was a real girl in real life.
So in short. I would hate to be a woman with a bunch of jump ready, lonely gamers who can't get passed the door to a cafÚ or bar to meet a real woman. I hate to be a man that needs to hit on virtual women just because I have some fantasies I want to work on but am too scared to do it in real life because i would have to actually face and talk to a real woman.
Gender of the player doesn't matter. It's a game. Keep it that way.
( I remember I got banned from another game which was 100% roleplay. I played a character and a GM there played a char of the opposite gender. After allmost a year the GM found out I was not the gender I played. I told him so at some point. And I got baned because the GM was offended by the fact I roleplayed my char too well. )
