its your only journal. you get those storyline missions once every 15 or 16 (or something) normal missions. They give increased rewards and you should try to do them if standing matters to you. So when he sends you a notification he should also offer you a mission... |

You really should join a player owned corporation. Look for one that specifically does the things that you want to do and has lots of players logged on in your time zone. They will be more than happy to answer questions in-game as they come up as well as teach you things you haven't even thought of. Also you will be able to join a mission running fleet that can take on higher level missions than you have access to. You will get more isk, more lp & higher standings much faster this way. Don't worry about leaving a corp if it turns out they are not on the same path as you or if there isn't any one around to help you on a regular basis. It is a social game, the more friends you fly with the more fun it will be.

Cheers As you do more missions you will gain standing with that corp, after so many missions you will get a storyline mission that will boost your faction standing. Higher standing will give you access to higher level missions. So simply, do more missions, and when you get a storyline mission (an npc will eve mail you for "help") do them.
^ This
Each station in empire (high-sec + low-sec) is owned by a NPC corporation that is part of one of the 4 NPC factions (Caldari, MInmatar, Amarr, Gallente).
Each agent giving missions is part of the NPC corp that owns the station.
So by running missions from 1 agent, or multiple agent from the same NPC corporation you boost your standings towards that corporation faster then when you take missions from 1000 different agents from 1000 different NPC corporations.
If your standing towards the NPC corp is high enough that NPC corporation will offer higher amount of missions (1 up to 5). You can also get storyline missions for faction standings (again one of the 4 factions). With high enough faction standings, all agents of a similar level will open up to you.
Level 1 missions: you need standings to be higher then -2.00 Level 2 missions: you need standings of 1.0 or higher. Level 3 missions: you need standings of 3.0 or higher Level 4 missions: you need standings of 5.0 or higher. Level 5 missions: you need standings of 7.0 or higher.
In the above list, like said, it's eighter standings to an NPC corporation (only agent that are part of that NPC corp) or faction (All agents that are part of that faction).
Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. Neo didnGÇÖt learn Kung-Fu by having it sit in his usb drive.-á If it moves, shoot it. If it doesn't move, poke it with your gun and then shoot it. We are not running, we are advancing in the opposite direction |

This advice is great, just strongly recommend researching, research research research before you commit to joining a corp and getting bored etc. |

I am just thinking, on a few occasions I have received mail from an NPC asking for help and telling me to meet them at a location. Once I go to the location, it says "Not available to you" even when I try and start a convo it says, Sorry, but I only work with people I trust. They contact me, but still I cant do the mission? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks again,
Make sure your actually in the station that the mission giver is in. When you get a storyline the npc offering the mission will show up in the agent list in every station. They will generally say something like come meet me or something like that when you try to speak with them. |

I didn't see it mentioned, but there are also skills that will help you increase your standings and get to the higher level missions. Look into the skills "Social" and "Connections". |
