Dear Capsuleer,

As you may or may not be aware Goonswarm have been running an operation to protect the flow of Ice products in New Eden. at this time our attention is on Gallente Ice Fields. Starting Saturday 15th October 2011 this will be moved to Minimatar Ice Fields. It has been noted that you are mining in this region of space and so are being contacted in advance to join our Certified Miners Scheme.

If you wish to continue to mine ice you must register and pay for a license to do so.

Visit http://goonfleet.net/miners/ for instructions on how to add your self to the roster for your own protection.

All fees must be sent to whom contacted you for our records or it is hihgly likely your application will be rejected. We do not want any innocent blood to be spilt do we?

Personally, as a casual capsuleer I don't have the money to pay Goonswarm, but look forward to increasing ice prices.

Hmn interesting, i have a huge stockpile of all types of ice, my miner been stockpiling them day in day out for the last 6 years. I may just flood the market with cheap ice when the time comes, or maybe someone who doesn't want it to hit the market might make me an offer

Probably not the place to say it, and I know I'll catch heat for it...but god damn I love Goonfleet.

I would say this is some goon that is trying to scam people into paying him.

1) Send small speedtanked ship that cannot be hit by BS to Ice belt
2) Agress and enjoy the futile pew by BS
3) Warp in your Macronaw

The only flaw with your argument is you can't equip a mackinaw with enough of a tank to withstand drone battleship rats. Meaning you can't bot ice mining in the drone regions.

If prices rise enough to justify it, DRF will run macro fleets with a single drake that either holds aggro or clears spawn. Or a single hulk mining ice at 60% efficiency, these things are not difficult to work out.

You know what happened the last time a bunch of pirates or goons or whatever started doing hisec ganks en masse? CONCORD got buffed. I would fully expect CCP to do it again.

This leaves you with a few options:

1) Manually mine the ice
2) Bot mine ice with hulks (which can tank)
3) Bot min with manual "guards" clearing the belt.

Either is a suboptimal solution. Ice would have to rise greater in value than the ABC asteroids to justify moving hulks to ice and that won't happen until oxygen isotopes gets in the 2500 range or so.

But keep on theorycrafting things which you have no idea how they work in practice, it's cute. I can't wait until you discover EFT and flood this forum with all the great fits you cooked up!

Oh please, what SHOULD happen is sec/ status to be done away with and have a real sand box with no popo at all. Just one big null space. At first it would be rough as it would be a massive orgy of space homos with ray guns doing nasty things to nasty bits. But after a while nobody will have any ships in eve. Then people will ease up and the situation will stabilize to about how it can be in plenty low sec areas now. Not hostile, shoot it type thing.

Now that would be a killer EVE

this is exacttally why you should not elect members from big alliances into the csm. goons have a good idea of what is coming and are 6 months ahead of schedule. by the time the rest of the game catchs up, the mittensonline corps will have to much of a power hold in this area. all you players need to start thinking with your head and stop waving epeens around space, this is very simple to understand. wonder why goons stay relivent in eve its because the last 5 years they have had a csm in place to keep a eye on new trends, then they exploit the **** out of it till the change is made. by then its too late and you cant catch up. the csm should be limited to no back to back terms and no more then 3 terms in 10 yrs. mittens has been in the last 3-4 years back to back. this coupled with many ccp employees also in goons makes for a very bad conflict of interest.

The 29 bots i have working on my 3 home PCs making ice will continue to turn a profit.

Hopefully one day soon if i have them all mine the one piece of ice they will make it pop.

Look folks I know you like to make these jokes, and they're really funny, but the reality is that each and every "goon" allowed to make contact with the public (via either these missives or any other) is licensed and bonded against just the kind of mischief that you are accusing them of.

So while you "forum trolls" laugh it up at the expense of our good name, remember that in the end, every goon's word is their bond, as we've proved time and time again. If we make a commitment and don't follow through, in ANY aspect of our game here in this EVE Online that we all love so much (despite the jokes) then we are held accountable. First by our own moral code, second by our peers, and last if by no other means, by our own very Strict brand of Goon Justice.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'll take the amnesty program, boys!

Minmatar, Caldari, Gallente, Amarr - it doesn't matter who or where they're assaulting, if the sentence is accompanied with the word 'Goon' then you know it won't be anything good. They've got New Eden in an iron grip, and getting them to loosen that grip is going to take a lot of people to stand united against them.

When it comes to the day I mine ice, I'll refuse to pay the 250 mil ISK because I won't back down to extortionate bigots.
