Hi, I just can't understand, this idea, itself, flying around more than five years. Why not to allow to increase/decrease ship's yaw, pitch and speed with keyboard controls? Is there is some technical issues or it will ruin bombers gameplay, or just nobody want it? Also 3D compass will be usefull too. Even without direct control. |

Because it's a point-and-click type of game. Really.
That being said, I see no reason against those features you proposed and I'd welcome them myself. |

I see no reason in this. La2, for example, is point and click too, but there you have ability to move forward\backward and strafe from keyboard. Sometimes it just more comfortable, for example to slightly increase angular velocity. It' will not replace point-n-click, just extend this. Also it there is some problems withi control from keyboard why not to add same arrows to the UI. Like +\- on engine speed. |

Because the game only sends and receives info from the server once per second, so your minute adjustments would take far too long to process if you were trying to be precise in any way? |

But would that not be the same problem for Dust then?
I would like it to fly my ship. I am plugged into the ship with several neural connections and can't even tell the ship to steer ?? :)
From dev point, it should only affect the direction you move first to show to others. The position of your ship towards this direction can have lag to others because it s of no importance :)
But keep in mind that in a fight most have enough to do beside steering....
But all to frigates shouls at least have a manual overide i think |

Please stop assuming that DUST and EVE run on the same engine.
Also, the server only sees ships as spheres. The client simply rotates the models based on the direction they are traveling. |
