several suggestions:
1. grouping of tractor beams. make 2 or more act like 1. you could then choose to a) increase range b) increase tractor speed maybe also have some stacking penalty.
2. tractoring non-owned wrecks (yellow ones) not possible?! why can you salvage a wreck you do not own, but not tractor it? as if moving it without stealing would be a crime?! might be fun to change and allow it? in any case, you should be able to do it, actually WHO is keeping you from doing it? a message. this is eve, free will. you could make it a crime like stealing and allow the owner to shoot you, but still it should be your choice. and it would be interesting to see if noctis really dare to steal by hitting the tractor ;) if someone left a field of salvage alone i dont see why someone shouldnt be able to take a risk and try to clean it. without a tractor nobody will do it, too less reward for moving to all the wrecks yourself... it would also allow new styles of gameplay, setting a trap, ...
3. allow upgrading tractors with some feedback device (extra cost item like a script) which senses when the wreck has reached you and will cause auto-deactivation of the module.
4. add more variations / meta level tractors, maybe make it a story line item to get by chance, with different range / speed / fitting requirements
item 1+3 could also be combined with a new skill since we now also have a special skill for the ship type. |

the only thing i like on this is the auto turn off that would come once the wreck got to the ship. it would have to be an option like cynos that deactivate after one sequence or run until the fuel for the cyno is out. The noctis took care of range and speed of tractor beams. I also support the idea of having scripts. Id like to add, possibly put scripts on salvagers. One script could accelerate salvaging cycle, the other could slow it down but automatically put the loot into the cargo bay. I live in drone region and putting each individual wreck contents into my cargo hold gets tiresome. |

I like the idea of being able to tractor anything (that can be tractored). Moving it should not be a crime, but salvaging from a wreck that isn't yours, your corp's or alliance's, or your fleet's should be, especially when you're still inside a deadspace mission pocket! If you close the mission and the wrecks are in 'open space' it should be freely salvageable by anyone.

I am also against using the tractors on yellow wreaks, but what could be done is that when a mission is finished, if there are still wreaks in the deadspace, they should become abandoned (become blue). Also wreaks in normal space that are not picked after 1 hour, should also become blue (mining zones with wreaks noone picks). I like the idea of having scripts to improve the tractor beams. They said that there would be some new T2 modules for winter expansion, and tractors still have not a T2 variant, so perhaps for winter... |
