It seems no matter what I change in the prefs.ini file (followed this guide: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=108524) it is not accepted by EVE. The file isn't write protected and I'm able to save whatever changes I've made.
I can't get the advanced graphics options to work, neither the savepassword feature.
I am aware that for example anti-aliasing can be activated through the nVidia interface but it's a pain in the ass having to change the settings every time I play another game...

the advanced graphics option does in fact work. I used it to enable v-synch and get rid of some minor screen tearing that I had
Question:
Which one are you modifying?
\CCP\EVE\cache\prefs.ini or \Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\settings\prefs.ini
the second one is the correct one. The one under the game directory will not change anything.

The savepassword feature was deliberately disabled a while back because it saved the password in clear-text and was too much of a security liability.
The advanced graphics options should still work though.

If you're running "out of the box", then yes, the second one is the one you need to change.
If you're using the LUA:OFF command line option though, then you'll need to use the first one. ------- There is no magic Wand of Fixing, and it is not powered by forum whines. |

What about desktopheight and desktopwidth? How can those be edited now?
When I first started in EVE 33 days ago, I had 4+ options for Window size in the UI [esc] options. Now, after the Nov 2007 patch, I only have 2 options for screen size.

Well, this PowerStrip application seems to be the brute force way to make it work. I'm not sure if there's a more elegant solution, though.
