Zanek , please quit eve and never return, FYI, if your mental capacity is large enough to uderstand this, read:
there is a very nasty virus that is abundant on the net at this time, and the hacked accounts are most likey victum to this.
if you, or anyone else want to read up on this virus, goto miscrosoft, or avg or any other of the big av programs as its been the news for the last week since it came out.
once again Zanek , god hates whiners

I am owner of 2 eve accounts.
My first account got a new password and ingame at the moment. Its ok.
My second account have a problems. I doesnt got e-mail after use password reset feature. E-mail is ok (at Hotmail.com server). What can I do now? Please contact me here or ingame.

Maybe I'm missing something, but here is my parallel story:
Had an inactive email addy, so went to help through the website Quite quickly got a response saying they had set up an account with a new user name and a randomly generated password - the new user name was my real name with which I signed the help email (did include others in mail)
With the new account, I was able to log in and change and confirm email addresses - to the new account.
Didn't help anything, of course - not related to my existing player account.
I then took the step of getting my old inactive email account working again (had to bug people I havent talked to in a year). Turns out, that address never receieved a new password either, nor got a message when I hit "forgot my password".
I then submitted a new help-seeking email reply back to the initial response which generated the new account (if thats clear at all), been several hours now and nothing.
After the first response came so fast (despite being fruitless) I'm wondering if I made myself look bad security-wise, etc. Am I missing something? Was there a point to the new help account that I didn't and haven't caught on to?
btw, the "new account" was a userID and password - I tried to play with it ingame to pass the time, but nothing (didn't really expect anything but had some hours to kill)
This is a 14-account I set up by chance a few days ago.
Any ideas?

You overly-zealous *****s are just as bad as the people having heart attacks over the situation. Some of us have some real concerns, so calling us "GOD DAMN WHINERS" isn't exactly appropriate.
For instance, unlike your petition, mine has been un-answered for a much longer time and I was noticing credit card problems related to CCP on my second account (this one). When you can't log-in because EVE states your credit card has been invalidated yet the credit card company knows nothing about it, and at the same time you hear that accounts have been hacked you start to worry whether or not your own personal information has been compromised.
I don't care if I can't log-in for a day. But I truly fear this will take a long, long time to sort out. What about the people who don't have second accounts to file petitions with in-game? What about the people who can't access the news to find out information because their password is invalid? How will I go about proving to a GM that my other account is mine without spitting some credit card numbers through an unsecure chat or e-mail? There's a lot of questions. We realize CCP is doing their best to solve the problem but some more information from the head-hanchos would be much appreciated.

Well I got the email on two of my four accounts. Good to see CCP is on top of this. String the loser hackers up while youre at it hacking is a crime!!!!
Anyway I was able to get one account back up but the other one I have no idea what email I used in beta to setup the account. I think it was my old TTI one and I've not been there in years.
Guess I wont be doing any mining tonight.

still the same situation here - i have been sent an email, with a very suspicious image attached. My comp asks me if i want to run the item etc - Its all very very dodgy looking - When i follow the link it still says error link already used blah blah - Below is listed the steps:
1:Login in to yahoo to receive mail 2:Click on message which is labeeled EVE Online: Reset Password 3:A window then appears saying this:
An external application must be launched to handle cid: links. requested link:
cid:03.jpg application: cid
If you were not expecting this request it maybe an attempt to exploit a weakness in that other program. Cancel this request unless you are sure it is not malicious.
4: i click on one then the other link displayed both send me to a page with this message:
Your password could not be reset. The url you followed is either incorrect, has been used or has expired.
It all seems very dodgy especially (3) listen to the wording - used to exploit a weakness in that other program, hardly sounds like official, microsoft error or warning language does it. I dont nnow what it is and i dont like it.

OK my corp member Markus Wolfe has had his account hacked, our corp wallet has all the money stolen and i`ve got Markus on Teamspeak going completely nutts as you can imagine. CCP really need to take a good look at this account as i`m a personel friend of markus`s in real life and know this is not him messing arround.

ok started trying to recieve password at 1500 hrs after messing around with an old e-mail addy i'm still not able to use the character, and to top it all off a friend who also can't log on has managed to steal money from corp ect while not being able to log on!

I have 3 accounts, all using the same email address since they were created. 2 of these accounts received their password change emails no problem and I'm in.
The 3rd account, my main account, has yet to receive the password change email and I did an "Ask a Question" and have yet to get a response.
I guess I'll go out tonight instead of playing Eve :)

Sorry if you took offense. Trust me i dont feel overly great about this either. For all i know, i'll finally be able to login tomorrow and find myself broke and robbed, or worse yet, put to the biomass heaven. My main that is still fubar has been in game every single day since around April 2004 or there abouts. I have a stomach ache tonight and its not a normal one.
If you dont feel you whine then dont take offense, some are though, I wanted to show how it actually does work for some of us in the ****ters.

I`m curious, as you write this,and few other ppl have problem with validatin email addresses,that when they(bad guys) hacked/guessed password to your or anyones else account,they also could change email,so when you now try to retrieve your pass it says not valid email address.And also when ccp just automaticaly resets your passwords at its email account,the new password went on bad guy email. So this can explain problem of Sky Fox.Your actualy friend couldnt get into game coz hadnt pass but the bad guy could.
Just my thoughts and sry for gramm :)

That is quite a worring thought, allso lends towards making one think that you could have a hacked account. But at least it would explain why you cant input your email account |

So Dr. Phil, tell me why this "kick the customer\user" in teh balls deal is so therapeutic to you? Help us understand why that meanspiritedness makes you a better human being than some of us who think treating customers a little better and with more respect and understanding is a better choice.
Are you all just trying to "teach us lazy users" a lesson? in a game no less? Way to go, without people like you out there kicking arses of decent, but slightly forgetful, people without enough time to manage email accounts in a game, what would we do?
You know what? On second thought don't bother. I'm glad I work in an organization which values not f-ing over it's customers and clients everytime a loophole allows. I'm similarly proud to be apart of an organization with a network admin team that can rise to whatever level their users need, despite their faults, and still provide A+ service. That's true professionalism.

Just for your info matey, they will not contact you here or ingame, well actually they may tell you what to do here but that could also be delayed.
Use the 'Ask a Question' clicky to the right of this thread. Hope that helps and I hope you get your account back into game soon.

Oh my...i cant imagine the mass of petitions our GMs will have to read after this horrible day in eve history. However, i was patient, and after only about three hours i got my mail & new pw...its working fine now.
This desaster is one week ahead of schedule ;) (friday 13th)

Hi, yes I was one of the renamed password people.... everything is safe n sound as I expected.
Ive double checked my pc's with kaspersky , spybot , adaware. and cannot find anything on my machines - I dont use the rememeber log/password services etc _ I run minimal Tsr machines.
results - nothing
A prudent move by ccp to change passwords. ok the wait was annoying but a minor pinpriick as to what could have happened.
But my main question is simply was this a client or server side hack?
(If this has been repeated then I appologise btw)
Its just a question for my own peace of mind ( small that it is ).

LOL got Billions in an account I have no acess to due to this so relax all.. There is a place called the real world go visit it, get some sun and fresh air ffs.. P.S. after we finish aquiring this game, this will never happen, your acct will get hacked but we dont care ...
