Due to many reasons I bought a new graphics card (a geforce 6800xt AGP 8x) just before christmas. As conincidence would have it I installed it on the same day RMR was released, and since then i have been plagued by graphical problems that have made EVE unplayable. Whenever I play after a while a bottom portion of my screen (it varies each time) freezes, which as you can understand is very crippling to the playability.
I decided to leave this problem till after i came back from my holiday, now i have done and if anything its worse. It started going buggy within a few minute of me logging in, except now not only does part of the screen freeze, but every so ofter (getting more often the longer i let it last) the whole screen would flick back to where the bottom part of the screen froze for a few frames.
I noticed that if i increased the buffer size in the prefs.ini file it was longer before this started happening before my holidays, now it doesnt seem to have made any difference (although i havent tested it much yet.)
I havent played eve for more than to change skills since RMR because of this, and it is getting VERY annoying. Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated (i can take screenshots if neccessary).

Maybe upgrading your drivers for GFX card? I used to run a Geforce3 and had the same problems until I updated mine.

did you try the new graphics card on other games? or another PC, update graphics drivers, (inc Direct X) if it's check to see what ram on the card is detected on boot up, (my old geforce kept looseing 128Mb of it's ram, causing the same errors your talkin about.) is your old driver removed before you put this card in?. oh and also you might want to see if windows has removed the old card from the device manager. 400x120@24000 bytes max please. -Capsicum |
