You cannot force a "themed" war. You cannot forcefully try to recreate past glories, and the mere effort of trying dooms the venture to failure. The 2nd Great Northern War will not be known as such till well after it has reached it's climax, and any effort to recreate it forcefully will only undermine the effort.
Thus this whole North versus South thing is meaningless.

A pvper would be making a sacrifice for his/her corp if they stopped chasing around after enemies and sat in a roid field all night tanknig a spawn for a mining op.
LMAO, only some1 from ASCN will post this nonsence.
Actually, this was one of the most enlightened I've read on these forums. It's absolutely true that "helping" a mate by doing PvP is hardly a sacrifice for a PvPer; it's exactly doing what they enjoy.
However, an industrial, a miner or a hauler putting his ships and accomplishments at risk because his Corp declares an Empire war is a large sacrifice.
What a bunch of crap most pvp¦ers i know is very poor compared to the guys who just npc all day or mine..
It has allways been like this the pvp¦ers is getting broke the rich miners just keep getting rich and you say they have a large sacrifice becuase they need to get in a combat ship and fight for there corp instead of just getting rich??
The fact is that is the pvp¦ers who allways fight for there corp alliance even tough they cant really afford it and once in a while the industrialist come to help, they lose a few bs goes back to there mining becuase OMG im down to 5billion
QFT. All the pvp'ers I know are broke or have a huge industrial base to pay for their ships. And there's Cartiff but I won't even tell you what he stoops to for isk!

tbh, i think there is alot of pvpers out there that are far more creative than incompetent carebears. I know a handful of guys that are pvping 23/7 and probably have more isk than most ordinary carebears.

Who said there's anything wrong with flaming one person and giving a serious reply to another?
Some people are dumb and some aren't, hence they deserve the appropriate answers.

Unfortunatly in this forum in particular, what is said by one person is considered to be reflective of their entire corp or alliance, depending on their position within it. Being the SA diplomat, you're going to get the full brunt of it :)

There is 1 way to make a good N vs S war.
CCP needs to add a small region with 1 conquerable station, good ore and npcs, and about 10 entry points from various 0.0 regions about the periphery of known space.
Put everyone 20 jumps from each other instead of 50 and you'll get a lot more fights. +++
It's called "low security space" for a reason. |

I wasn't really saying that it was a sacrifice for a miner to get in a pvp ship to fight.
What I was saying was that it is no sacrifice at all for a pvp to fight on behalf of his/her alliance because THAT IS WHAT PVPERS LIKE DOING.
If they werent doing it on behalf of their alliance then they would be doing it for piracy or laughs. PVPERs are not sacrificing anything as they are doing exactly what it is that they like to do.
This would be the same as an industrialist saying they are making sacrifices by building and production rather than pvping. No, they are doing what they want to do.
I have no problem with people doing what they want, that after all i why they get involved, but I dont agree with the idea that pvpers are "sacrificing" themselves to help the industrialists or that this is some kind of chore for them.

PVPers low on cash in an op when they could be out ratting getting their isk up or miners going for a lower profit ore / ice because the alliance needs their efforst are both sacrificing themselves for the greater good. To be honest they are equally valuable as pvpers win battles and industrialists make logistics happen. Often there is overlap especially in 0.0 as the carebears who want reward without risk tend to stay in empire and so pvpers can mine and build if needed and industrialists can jump in ships to fight.
The cooperation and bonds between SA, Huzzah and KAOS is increasing all the time so it bodes well for that particular region of the south.

Get over yourselfs.
The north VS south war will come, and no alts can change that.
100 jumps? what are you guys sniffing? Last time I checked, there where jumpclones. They save your implants, and allow you to travel from an outpost in Fade, to an outhouse in esoteria, to an outhouse in catch.
Have your corp buy ISS shares for 1 bisk, and you get yourself insta-clone-jumps from South to North.
Once the titans go active, watch how 200 people's clones awaken on the far end of the universe.
See how a chain of Cryosfields light up at covert POS's, and 30 dreads leave Great Wildlands for the troubled and much much wanted areas of ehh.. providence..
100 jumps? That ain't a PvP problem at ALL. It is mainly a logistical problem, and that is mainly something like: how can I get 10 ceptorps up there ASAP?
When BOB had the IRON outhouse, what do ya people think whould happen when BOB, KOS, SA, ASCN, LV, FIVE put in theire jump-clones there, and they had a clone-jump party?
Or when G/Iron/Razor/NBSI starts a massive clone-jump into Oberon-prime station in Esoteria, where there are 500 ceptors / AF's / bombers / cruisers and 200 battleships just waiting for some real vacume around them hulls??
RANGE is not the limiting factor no more. LOGISTICS is.
The winner, will be the once with the best logistics.

Seeing how those alliances do NOT have clone-jump rights in our stations.
Or offices.
Or docking rights for that matter.
Where exactly does your theory go?

Quoted because Gobby has never met a male of the human species. EVE players make Rambo look like Mr. Rogers when it comes to the machismo, PVPer or not.
