Excluding Ice which I can't mine is there anything better than Plagioclas and it's counterparts in Concord controlled space?
I've browsed a couple of +5 systems with real standing of >0.4 <0.5 but they don't seem to have anything worthy of lasering.

Kernite also spawns in amarr space in 0.5 and some 0.6 system.

Heh - you can tell I'm in Caldari space then.
Ok - I'll have to figure out *where* Amaar / Gallente / Minimatar space is and go there then.

Just check 0.5 and 0.6 in your space for omber and kernite. AFAIK every race's region only has one of them in hig sec. Gallente has omber for sure and Amarr has kernite. Dunno for Caldari and Minmatar. And check the belts daily as both types only respawn twice a week and since they are best in high sec, they are stripped within hours. Try to find a quiet system with only a few belts and nearly no mining corp offices in the station, or try to find a system overloaded with belts and hurry up to mine as much as you can after downtime. Stationless systems and lowsec have these ores normally a bit longer then one day before miners strip them of the belt but it's eigther annoying to haule or unsafe as pirates operate above all in the early low sec. In Caldari space pyroxeres is much better than plagioclase to mine. You can find this all the way up to a .8, so it's alot safer as well.

You probably won't be able to find Omber except on Tuesday-Friday. Kernite's a little more readily available, but still pretty rare these days.
And yes, Pyroxeres is very nice. Nocxium is good.

Hmm, when I was playing a long time ago, I did a lot of mining... and from what I remember scordite gave more than plagioclase too... But maybe it was just massive scordite, or maybe it was just because of the market rates back then... I'm not sure how it would be now or if there would be a difference in the two if you sell the ore vs refine.
I don't feel like calculating. ;)

Go into the "find answers" section for the value for each ore. technically plagiclase is better than any other normal .5+ non-rare 'roids. I am yet to see anything bove that in value though. When they say "rare asteroid" they mean it.

Scord will still earn you more than Plag. I comes down to its volume. X m3 of Scord is worth more than X m3 of Plag and your lasers don't care they are pulling X m3 per min.

I concur with them, as was said, Scord is a good chunk better than Plag.
Pyrox is a LITTLE better than scord, but of course thats regional.
and Kernite/Omber is better yet. but... as has also been said (I'm not really adding much am I?... maybe just further confirmation) its frequently mined out in high sec space.
