I have a couple of reasonable ideas.
Virtual damage:
Something along the lines where you can play "Wargames" with your corp members - perhaps a setting somewhere or a module that can be fitted for a gang, where as players can conduct "training" exercises in game where the damage done by weapons will take the ship down to zero HP and then have it respawn in dock. The implementation would be the tricky bit. But being able to practice battles with your corp members and not blow up precious harware would be great for getting some teamwork and corp specific tactics deveoping.
Like a paintball or a harmless laser skirmish mode. For corp members only.
Second idea
External (Away from home) Skillset Managment:
I'm sure alot of dedicated Eve players are working types and if we had the ability to adjust or switch learning skills whislt at a PC ternimal without the Eve client installed. Reason being that people that don't have as many commitments as other have an advantage of developing their characters more. If someone is away for work or whatever for an extended period of time and they are a dedicated player. Unless they pick a skill that matches the length of time they will be away for, hours if not days of precious skill traning can go to waste. Perhaps the web interface that shows your skills on the web site here could have interaction.
Well there are my 2 cents. -------------------------------------------------------------

GREAT IDEA!!
Actually, I've been browsing this forum looking to see if anyone had already posted this idea before I made a post myself. I often leave town for weekends and while I do have access to the internet, I don't have access to the EVE client neccessarily. Also, Think of how easy it would be to train up a skill through all the short (< 8 hours) ranks while you are at work. This would be a great addition.
Shouldn't be too hard to make a webpage where we can log in and switch the skill we are currently training.
There HAS to be more people out there that like this idea??

the 2nd ideas been posted and rejected so much that it now ahs session with a shrink 5 days a week =/
the first idea though, i want it! ive quietly mused about it, but never thought it through. a gang module, say "Training Sim Primer" would make all ships gain a semi-solid bluish shell, with all guns turning to a pure red beam with a kinda "wizzz" noise or summat, clear indication that its happening (so a gang leader cant get u ganked in lowsec deliberately =P)
qft peeps!

instead of all that, how about just an ammo type that is a dummy S/M/L that one can load when conducting training exercises with your corp? Sorta like the snowball launcher for xmas, but for normal weapon loadouts. You could even mimic the characteristics of a given ammo type, just without the damage being dealt.

Quote: The Devs have stated on a number of occasions the reasoning behind the decision to not introduce a skill queue system and a web-based interface for skill selection. Mostly, it centers around this being a game we want you to play, not a web-based competition centered around who can get to 100 Million skill points the fastest.
There are work arounds for time constraints under the existing system. Set a short skill for the times when you are playing, a longer skill for the times when you are not available.
We are having a difficult enough time enforcing the issues caused by ISK and item sellers, let alone players selling characters on Ebay. We are not going to introduce another game mechanic that will allow 'character farmers' an easier time with their trade.
