For those sitting at work chewing their nails... Rubicon works.
Launcher failed to update (surprise surprise). The repair tool worked. Launched with exefile.exe, no problem.

Works fine under Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, Wine 1.6, except for the launcher problems. (but those are easy to bypass) |

When I patched, the launcher broke and wouldn't run. Repair.exe didn't fix it. Had to run ExeFile directly, then it kicked me out and started the update itself, which also fixed launcher. Running like a champ now. |

Everything worked smoothly. Running Crunchbang and using wine 1.6 through playonlinux. It updated with no hitches through the launcher

Ok, seems to work as well as before the expansion update with an Nvidia card. Captains Quarters still doesn't work 99% of the time causing a CTD. Launcher works just as well as under windows with Wine 1.7.5 or better. Noticed some Graphical glitches with my second machine with a AMD Radeon card running OpenSuse 13.1 which also caused the occasional freeze of the X server. (I'll be looking further into this to see if it's a caused by the expansion or the latest Propriertary Radeon Drivers+3.11 Kernel)

This issue i have investigated since Catalyst 11.x/early 12.x.
In the early days it created infinite loop errors in Xorg. But later xorg was dropping some frames because of fglrx. This issue is long standing and is my main reason why I now have 670 instead of 6970 from AMD.
I have a bug posted in their bugzilla about this but Don't know if someone took it over or it just got to old since I lost patience to even get a response or feedback by the tracker or direct mail.
To get back have a phone or laptop running connected via ssh where you can kill the wine process to rescue the desktop. However some hangs i was unable even to run ssh so yeah. Good luck. Features & Ideas Tag shortcuts - Make an FC enjoy his position more! Overview - Show fleet members only! |

I've added
Quote:Option "UseFastTLS" "Off" to the device section of xorg.conf file and it seems to solved the issue. |
