As the title suggests I would like to know the different playing styles for the different races. I think this is invaluble knowlage that would help people choose what race to go when they start. So what are the different playing styles for each race. execpting that this is going to generalise and not be ship pecific

Playing style is something you develop on your own, and while there are some distinct patterns that come with each race's ships, they are nearly impossible to properly describe to someone without experience
I play Gallente bs a lot, the style is "fighting within scrambler range"

The race you choose in the beginning only determines your attributes. You can choose your playstyle however you want, my caldari character commands Amarr ships, and he's good at it and trains relevant skills fast because of his relatively high Perception.

Amarr - soak up lots of damage over long periods of time. Medium range fighting.
Galleante - very close range with drones.
Calidari - any range with jamming, or soak up lots of damage for a short period of time.
Minmatar - deal good damage at a variety of ranges, variety of damage taking options.
Is the best i can come up with off the top of my head. Of course once you get down to it the sheer variety of options in eve mean this is pretty pointless.

Many people choose their own playstyle. I like to RP my racial ships. But I don't go overboard and try to force my style on certain ships. Then you've got to adapt and choose a different ship. "Big guns and heavy armor what else is there?"

minmatar: moan on the forums that you're the most underpowered race in eve dispite dominating almost every catagory of ships besides BS .
on a serious note, minny close-range fighting style is to move quicker than your opponent and shoot him from outside their range. you will always be fighting at the falloff range - try and engage a ship like the deimos/megathron at extreme close ranges will get you killed in 2 seconds.
Please do not discuss actions taken by forum moderators, even in your sig. *snip*red snip brought to you by Kaemonn. PS, you're hot.--Jorauk |

Indeed, starting race means little. Get out there, learn what style fits you and what ships you like to fly, and build from there. _______________________________________________ Deadspace For Dead space!
