11 days ago, i joined the Eve community with great hopes and high expectations. I must say, Eve has exceeded all expectations. I did not encounter frustrated, unpleasent players when i asked for help (but im sure they're out there) and everyone welcomed me with open arms. I would like to subscribe, but i cannot afford to pay each month yet so my trial will run out before i can subscribe. My question is: Will i still be able to post here on eve gate even with my trial expired and no subscription? |

On a slightly more RL/serious note: if you can't afford the 15$ a month or whatever your subscription comes out to, you probably shouldn't be wasting your time on an MMO. Not just Eve, but any MMO. Take care of real-life stuff before you invest in entertainment, buddy.
This applies to people that pay for their subscription by buying PLEX in-game, too. It's great to not HAVE to pay for your subscription in the larger online-****-measuring contest sense, but if you're doing it because you can't afford the subscription, for the love of god stop playing video games and use that time to fill out job applications. This game is for entertainment, not so that you can rationalize ruining your life to yourself. |

if it's inactive there's no posting no. but you can still access account management
your trial account has a shelf life offhand it's 6 months, but it could be longer whenever that period ends, the account is erased
so you have some time to come back |

You can subscribe on a monthly basis and cancel the sub if you cannot afford it in a given month. When I started EVE I was in very inconsistent work and always had to prioritize my very limited entertainment money, so I subbed for one month at a time.
The other option is try to steal enough in-game assets to pay for a PLEX before your trial expires. It can be done. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=326497 --áPsychotic Monk for CSM! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. MMOs are crack for the imagination. This weekend I'll be building a hen house and staying as far away from EVE as I can.
Well, maybe just one hit, to trade some PLEX so I can fund the next few months of subscription.

Make yourself a new account via buddy invitation. Some buddy invitation programs offer you several hundrets milions ISK + ships etc. And you will have 51 days to get the rest of money, needed for PLEX. This way you can pay once for the subscription with real money and keep making EVE very poorly payed job for the rest of your life. Cause it will take hours a day on ex-newbee account to earn 750 - 800 milions ISK monthly. Game becomes slavery without fun... but you seems to want it so. |

CCP guarantee your account is preserved for some...years, I think. But that doesn't matter since to date they haven't erased a single account, and probably won't either. They'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they did that.

They nuke trial accounts that never subscribed all the time just to free up the names, etc. Once you've given them subscription money (even indirectly through PLEX activation), sure, your account is basically forever, but that's not what we're mostly talking about in this thread. |

I have a character that I created in 2007 and only played two days during the trial. First subscription on that char and account was in end of 2012. Neither char nor the account got nuked. |

CCP isn't blizzard with 10s of millions of customers so they never delete a character even on trial whether it has ever logged in or not; because a character is nothing but code string in a database and that hardly takes any space these days.
Also do note that 14Gé¼ might be quite another sum then in the states depending where you live (here for example 14Gé¼ is considered quite hefty sum of an hourly wage after tax reductions, so more like 14Gé¼ per 1,5 hours of work actually). But then again this "the Nordic tax haven" on it's finest. |
