My name was Ja'Ida Ki'Idama and I was born on Intaki V.
I was steeped in the Intaki Way. It was as central to my learning as a star is to its system. And like a star system, there were orbiting planets - planets of studies in both the Arts and the Sciences.
Far and away, my favorite was archaeology. How I dreamed of peering back through the mists of times long past and somehow clearly see primordial worlds. Unearthed antiquities became my dearest confidants whispering ancient communiques from of old.
My nickname was "D Scanner". No matter where I was, my eyes moved to and fro over all my surroundings straining to discern a likely place to find artifacts from an earlier time. In the mountains, I found fossils. In the seas, ancient jetsam. And in the libraries, siren-songs of antique lore.
In adulthood, I became a capsuleer, a repudiation, perhaps, of the Intaki way of the Reborn. But it was the only way I could travel freely to Eve Gate. It was there I wanted to search and see all the way back to the genesis of our races and civilizations. I wanted to know the truth about our origins. I wanted to answer the questions, "How did we get here?", "Why are we here?" and, "Why am I here?".
So... I scanned.
I ventured as close to the blazing, searing Eve Gate as I dared. Slowly, systematically, persevering for years, I scanned the space surrounding Eve Gate. And at long last, I could shout, "Eureka!".
I retrieved the cube, ten centimeters on a side, with markings like those on the Eve Gate itself. Via the capsule's neural interface, I thought a command to a maintenance bot to turn its camera on the cube so that I could inspect this precious find.
I studied the markings and I froze for a split second when I spied the trigrammaton of our civilization GÇô EVE. How could this be? Then I spied another inscription partially worn away: C b S t.
I excitedly but carefully issued commands to the bot to open the cube. It contained what looked to be ancient media, disk-shaped, along with some sort of projector. Also present were pictorial guides for using the projector and to point out the first disks to view.
I had already acquired the most cutting-edge tools in New Eden for language and image translation. I had also augmented the tools with scripts that would apply language patterns in the form of reversible cellular automata extracted from most of the significant writings in the various languages of New Eden.
I transferred the data from the disks into the language translator and for the next several months, I analyzed it. Blessedly, I was able to decipher one of the languages.
My subsequent translations revealed that the Common Origin Theory propounded by the Earthologists is apparently true. The cube came from ancient Earth.
Among the hundreds of writings, there were three texts marked as of highest importance: The Message, an explanatory preface from the one who sent the cube, and an autobiography of an ancient messenger of The Message.
From the preface I learned:
C b S t is actually the word "CubeSat" - a satellite in the shape of a cube.
The CubeSat craft itself was not built by governments or corporations. Rather it was devised as an inexpensive way for the "average lover of space" to launch scientific instruments, video equipment, and automated experiments into low-earth orbit which would perform their work and transmit the results back to Earth.
The designers' intended that the orbits of all CubeSats would decay over a few days or weeks causing the CubeSats to reenter Earth's atmosphere and burn up, thus leaving no "space clutter" in orbit.
However, one ancient capsuleer-in-spirit had a different plan. This Ancient Capsuleer installed a clever and disguised propulsion system along with the experiments. Once in orbit and at the right point in both time and space, the propulsion system activated accelerating the cube to escape velocity and toward a mysterious destination the nature of which I am unsure.
It was a note-in-a-bottle cast into a cosmic sea.
Again from the preface, the Ancient Capsuleer explains why he launched the cube.
"I laughed at the truth for a long time. It was a message I thought only the uneducated and unintelligent from the 'back woods' of civilization could possibly believe. But then I read the life story of an actual backwoodsman from the past. More specifically, I read the story of a backwoods preacher, a circuit rider, who rode from settlement to settlement preaching the truth.
I was much taken with his bravery, fervor, and devotion to The Message and to the Sender of it. Wherever he rode and preached, the power of The Message took hold of people and they believed.
I believed The Message, too.
And because I believe, I speak. I speak this same message. I speak it by sending it to those who will come after me. I send it to those far away."
And I am much taken with this Ancient Capsuleer. The Message he preached took hold of me - and I believed. The Message also answered my questions about "how" and "why".
Now, I am a new person. I am truly reborn.
My name is Prechr Circuitrider.
Please. Come and hear The Message.
I plan to make my first circuit through New Eden warping counterclockwise along the boundary between High and Null-sec starting at Gergish X and ending at Cistuvaert V.
At twelve different systems including these two, I plan to hold a "Camp Meeting". This is not a gate or station camp, to be sure. Rather it will be a meeting patterned after those held by the circuit rider of ancient earth. I will publish meeting details soon in another post.
It is absolutely vital that you learn the truth. I want you to hear it - and believe.

And that I've never been exposed to whatever undetected radiation must be coming off of the EVE Gate that makes so many Capsuleers see the edge of space in some quick and sweeping moment.

I know, right? There's nothing preventing people from hosting upbeat, positive and social activities in a cult. I happen to partake in many of such activities. |

No, Anslo, I'm not playing a joke and I don't have any ulterior motive. But I do realize this is hard to believe. I'll provide more details about the cube and its contents both here and in subsequent replies to other posters.
To answer your question about testing the age of the metal, conventional archeological dating techniques focus on artifacts, fossil records, characteristics of rock and rock formations, and the like. All of these are found on individual planets with specific environmental characteristics upon which dating techniques depend.
This is not the case with the cube. I found it in space. It has no planetary context that I can determine and so standard dating techniques can't be applied.
However, the process I used to translate texts from the cube can be used to date the texts. This translation process assumes New Eden languages developed from earlier languages. I used reversible cellular automata algorithms along with other language translation techniques to reverse the sequence of development of New Eden languages to produce earlier and earlier generations of the language..
Concurrently, I used the texts from the cube and applied the cellular automata algorithms in a "forward" direction to create a sequence of language development as might happen over time.
I used other software to compare each language generation from the reverse-direction processing with each language generation of the forward-direction processing in hopes of finding some reasonable match.
With time, I was able to make the connection between a contemporary New Eden language and one from the cube and so was able to refine the algorithms and create a translation of the texts.
Using the average amount of time required for a language to develop from one generation to the next, I computed the time needed for the cube language to develop into the New Eden language. This amount of time correlates with dates mentioned in the texts themselves..
These dates point to time frames for Ancient Earth. |

Claudia, good point.
But I'm not sure if the cube came through the gate. All I know at this point is that I found it in the New Eden system. It might have been brought through the gate in another vessel. |

N'maro, I'm not an authoritarian, charismatic leader, In fact, I'm not leading anything. But I am proclaiming something. The Message is the antithesis of things stern and harsh. It's about grace and freedom, not about binding oneself to a list of rules to try and make one's self acceptable.
I'll provide more details about the camp meetings in my reply to Kei a little later. But I'm planning to hold them in stations within systems with at least a .5 security rating and so have Concord protection.
Odd robe? Please look at my picture. I'm not wearing a robe.
Strange liquid? I say this gently - you're the only one who has mentioned drinking strange liquids.

To be sure, Arista, we can discern some level of truth from observing ourselves in that we are all created in the image of the One who sent The Message.
But is there really truth in our hearts? What do they tell us? They tell us that we are basically good and that we can evolve to higher and higher levels until we achieve perfection. They say, "I am captain of my ship and master of my fate!"
But our hearts lie.
The Message says, "The heart is deceitful above all things and it is exceedingly corrupt. Who can know it? ".

I've thought about that, Kei. And I've also thought about how a camp meeting could be attacked by those opposed to The Message. This is New Eden after all.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm planning on holding the camp meetings in a stations within systems of .5 security or higher. Would Concord be sufficient protection? I chose the circuit along the boundary between High and Null-sec in hopes that more capsuleers from Null-sec might attend. A doctor wants to help those who are sick, not the healthy.
Would you recommend that I hold the meetings in .9 or 1.0 systems?
What else might I do so that attendees can be relatively safe? |

Interesting. Although I have two problems with your discovery.
Firstly, as a collector of art and antiquities I have some experience at being able to spot a fake. The veracity of your claim to have discovered an artefact from beyond the Eve Gate is at best dubious.
Secondly, as I am also a native of Intaki V, I find it curious how you link rebirth to spiritual transformation. Death and rebirth of the body is only a transition. We are already born with an immortal soul and spiritual transcendence is achieved through enlightenment of this soul. A GÇÿMessageGÇÖ such as the one you claim to have discovered implies a philosophy of redemption and miracles and by extension a scripture to disseminate its conviction. This is not logical. There is no sin or corruption. There is only choice. Every word we speak or deed we perform is an instrument of choice. Spiritual transcendence is achieved through reflection and meditation on those choices. It is a path of many lifetimes and not achieved through belief in miraculous illumination.
This is distracting.
