EVE Online: Rubicon 1.4 has been published on April 28th, 2014.
This release mainly focuses on a slew of bug fixes and minor tweaks as we approach Fanfest 2014, along with all of the information that will be revealed there!

as it might take ages to actually get this mission, can you clarify what exactly has been done in order to have this included in said patch.......

Any reason Omni tracking links cycle time was increased to 30 seconds, AND the cap usage is the same? Tracking computers have a 10sec cycle time according to EFT. Considering tracking comp stats were used for the omnis, it seems like a crazy nerf to have to wait that long to switch scripts. It also seems to come out of nowhere.
You had already nerfed sentries with the omni change, especially gardes. With the next expansion gardes will be losing more damage, possibly made up for by faction/dedspace dmg mods, but I can't see how omnis were so overpowered as to require 30 second cycle times.

with the rumoured Gila nerf upcoming, seems CCP are on an anti-drone campaign currently. |

This change affects NPC's in the first room (The room which you first land in when warping to the mission) of all Lvl 4 Worlds Collide missions.

Sentry 'balancing'.
To encourage use of the new drone low-slot mods which will be more "balanced" (e.g. TEs versus TCs) thus making the low-slot fixed "generally" bonused low-slot omni-equivalent a valid choice over the 30s to change, all-or-nothing min-maxed Omnis. Which has the "side" effect of DDAs competing with low-slot Omnis and thus reducing drone DPS (aka more balancing,) while also making the new faction DDA's more attractive.
The lower cap use is just a weak attempt to assuage CCP's guilt and mollify/distract the player base.
For bonus karma (negative karma is still karma,) CCP will probably make it so the mid-slot Omnis won't work without a script, ergo, you can either have an Optimal bonus or a Tracking bonus, but not both, thus making the low-slot Omni modules attractive/competitive.

But this would be implying lowslot tracking mods for turrets aren't currently attractive or used. which is just wrong. Or that lowslot tracking mods for drones wouldn't be used if Omnis stayed the same, which is wrong. Making Omnis take 30 seconds basically removes all ability to change scripts in a timely manner, which means unless you are using gardes, you only need one type of script: Tracking. If you are operating at such a range then you only need one type of script, Optimal. Gardes however, which are short to midrange at best, require you to change scripts if you want to get the best out of them, and now that is severely gimped.
Yet nobody in the history of ever has complained about turret ability to change ammo or scripts in a timely manner to achieve crazy ranges or insane dps out to decent ranges. I can name a number of ships that manage Garde level dps out to far better ranges, with similar or better tracking. This nerf doesn't really make sense.
I'm not even mad either, because it only pushes me into trying a fit I was toying with anyway for my ishtar. I'll be running an active shield tank ishtar now, with 3 Omnis, granting me ~60km optimals with gardes, and nothing but damage amps and tracking enhancers in the lows (when they come out). This did nothing but push me from a passive tank ship operating in the 30-40km range to an active tank ship operating in the 50-60km range.
And this change wouldn't even touch an armor domi, or my old shield navy domi, and likely won't matter to the rattler. It just made using gardes as anything but a longer range platform more difficult, which is hilarious since that is their purpose. It's even funnier when I went away from the route specifically to use the omnis the way ccp seemed to want, and use gardes close range instead of long range.
Oh well, Gardes are still going to be used more than the others for PVE outside of absolute sniping scenarios. Even with the dps nerf coming, they will still be used more often. It's like they can't understand that "highest dps " and " Second tank hole for a lot of rats " adds up to "most used" . It's like wondering why caldari navy scourge sells more than others. |

Thanks for the warning that a 276+MB patch was coming, CCP. Remember before you had your launcher how the patch was announced a day or 2 before the patch right on the Logon Screen? Right where every player could see it? Now you have a launcher, and there is news on the right side, but no announcements about the patch.
Don't you think it might be a good idea to give people news about the game in the news section of the launcher?
Were you all so busy deciding if the new selection screen should be Denim, Cornflower, or Tufts blue that alerting the playerbase in your fancy new launcher just got forgotten?
Seriously, the words LATEST NEWS are in big, white letters on the right of the launcher. You have Dev Blogs all over it telling us what you are GOING to do. If that is news, wouldn't it also be news when you actually DO things?
You spent boatloads of subscription money and faced numerous rage threadnaughts when you forced the launcher on us. At least make the thing useful in some small way.
You know, like putting the latest new patch release warnings in the LATEST NEWS area? |

Why? This is a really annoying change. It means that when you kill a close-in target, and the next is far away, you may have to wait up to 30 seconds to change scripts.
Is this change specifically to slow down the changing of scripts? Or is it to reduce Cap use? Or what? If it is not intended to make changing scripts painful, then maybe turning off the module should result in it turning off right away, rather than at the end of the 30 second cycle. http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

Anyone else getting EVE to break when docking up, or emerging from a jump?
The client stops and errors about 9/10 when docking, and about 1/10 when coming out of a jump gate.
I've rebooted and run the new client without starting up anything else - same probs. This was my first reboot in about a month, and since last night the only change on my machine was the new EVE client.
Where should I post logs/reports/screenshots/sysinfo? I've never had an issue with EVE until now.
*edit* Just noticed this section of the patch notes:

The Omnidirectional Tracking Link change is the last nail in the coffin for non-Dominix sentry platforms. Ships like the Armageddon already had trouble hitting because they lack bonuses to optimal and tracking, so 2x Omnis were more or less a requirement. Then they were changed to need to be scripted, and then 2x Omnis weren't even enough without switching scripts more than you do anything else. Now you can't even do that.
Is there some sort of explanation for this change? Is there a reason the source of this problem, the Dominix, hasn't been nerfed instead of nerfing every other possible sentry platform? |

I've been pretty quiet on these forums, but I just had one simple idea:
Add an option to offset the camera vertically, since there is already one for left and right.
Personally, I find the current camera height to be somewhat inconvenient, and I don't see why the ability to change it vertically hasn't yet been introduced. It would be soooooo nice to be able to see straight ahead.
Yeah, yeah, I know, I should be playing zoomed out anyway.
