Hey guys,
If you watched the third party developer tools update presentation at Fanfest (which you can find here if you missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twRDTraUvEU) or talked to some people that did you may have heard we are looking at starting a trial of the EVE SSO. As a summary though so that you do not have to watch a whole presentation to find out what is going on:
- We would like to get several web sites to integrate the EVE SSO into their site.
- We require web apps to ensure secret keys are not leaked.
- Chosen sites may have more than 1 developer, but not lots either.
- Chosen sites and developers must be willing to sign the new developerGÇÖs license agreement (after seeing it and agreeing its good, which it is).
- Chosen sites must be open and neutral.
- Chosen sites must be willing to put development time into this effort.
- Chosen sites must be willing to work with us to improve the SSO endpoints and documentation.
If you feel like your site would fit these requirements and you want to get involved respond to this thread with the following information:
- A link to your web site?
- What will SSO do for your sites users? For example beyond user management does your site have a commenting system?
- How many developers are working on your site
So, who is interested? CCP FoxFour // Game Designer // @regnerba

I have heard word from a few others that are interested in that sort of thing and I believe we are totally up for that. The agreement would of course that the SSO only be used for that and the sites using the commenting system would also have to be under the limited trial. CCP FoxFour // Game Designer // @regnerba

Signups are now closed. Those chosen will receive an EVE mail soon (writing it now) and a dev blog following that at some time. CCP FoxFour // Game Designer // @regnerba

Hey guys,
The SSO trial so far is going amazingly well. We are however taking a bit longer to get ready for the next step, opening up for anyone to register freely.
Due to that taking longer we would like to continue accepting more people into the limited trial. If you would like to be considered, and we reserve the right to pick and choose who we want, please consider the following requirements and then apply in this thread.
- You must be using this for a web application. Downloadable applications will have to wait until we open it up.
- Your web site must be open to the public and not charge or restrict access in anyway.
- No gambling web sites.
- We also consider people who are looking to make open source plugins, like someone who is creating a plugin for EDK.
If you are wondering whats required in implementing the SSO check out the documentation here: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/EVE_SSO_Documentation
I am out for the weekend now. Be sure to keep an eye on your EVE mail to see if we contact you. :)
Fly safe guys... or not... I prefer the not part. :P CCP FoxFour // Game Designer // @RegnerBA |

I see you are trying to replace me already. FYI, I am already working on an EDK comment plugin to let people post comments using SSO. It is mostly working, but I need to add a few more features and some better error handling. It will be open source and free to everyone
:P No, just trying to give people ideas... like a plugin for forums... that would be awesome... hint hint nudge nudge... CCP FoxFour // Game Designer // @RegnerBA |

Darkblad wrote:Something completely ... different, but slightly related. Many (most? all?) of the sites currently supporting SSO still trigger this warning when following links to them on the forums. This warning might be good for links that are not directly affiliated with CCP. But when those not too aware are being presented with the SSO page from such sites, some might start to wonder.
It's out of my control, but I will bring it up with our community and web teams and see what they think. Thanks for bringing this up though, completely did not think about it. :) CCP FoxFour // Game Designer // @RegnerBA |

Just asking, are you planning to release official plug in for SSO for common forum/CMS software like XenForo, SMF, IP.B, vBulletin or we have to wait for third party developers?
We have no plans to no. You guys are welcome to develop such things. CCP FoxFour // Game Designer // @RegnerBA |

This site isn't public quite yet, but I'm getting it ready for a soft launch in the next week or so and it would be neat to be able to add SSO to it. Just wanted to post now to make sure I don't miss any deadlines. There's not too much public on the site right now but I've just added a blurb to show what it's all about: https://www.posthing.net/SSO will just be used for basic auth, but I'd love to get more involved as this eventually leads to authenticated CREST.
If you are serious about wanting SSO access send me an EVE Mail. :) CCP FoxFour // Game Designer // @RegnerBA |

Mikokoel wrote:Hi CCP FoxFour,
I would like to apply to the SSO Trial.
I'm the developer behind POLARISv2 (http://vserver.zap.de.com/), a webpage with several tool mostly directed at small scale PvPers. I have features for shopping, creating custom related kills, and other stuff.
My registration system is based on API-Keys so far, which isn't quite ideal. Corporation information is important when it comes to sharing shopping lists or battle reports with only selected people.
I'm currently considering a rework of the code into different technology, integrating SSO at this point would be very comfortable.

Send me an EVE Mail with the following:
Web site name Web site URL Character to be associated as the developer Email address you can be reached at Callback URL for development (this is created for Sisi) Callback URL for production (once you have finished development and are ready for TQ we will create a client ID for this) CCP FoxFour // Game Designer // @RegnerBA |
