The Red Horizon Navy is currently seeking active, skilled, US-based PvPers to fill its ranks. Newly created, the aim of the RH-N is to conduct offensive and defensive PvP operations both reactively in support of the Red Horizon alliance, and proactively against our rather numerous enemies.
For those interested, the founding members of the Navy have their roots in small-style gang warfare, with groups regularly consisting of 12-16 members. We've fought against some of the best in the game, and come out on top not because of numbers, but because of organization and quality pilots. For example: Biomass Cartel which wardecced Shattered Light two week's after its inception, 432,287,794.00 net isk. Forsaken Empire, the corrupt alliance which attempted to regulate the area in which we lived, 1,006,541,737.40 net isk.
However, with the creation of the Navy, we're looking to branch out a bit from those roots, and to do that requires larger numbers of highly skilled pilots. It is the aim of the Navy to become the 0.0 based corporate security unit of the Red Horizon alliance.
As such, we are currenly looking to enhance our fleet with a small group of new players that like fast moving pvp action. If you have not PVPed much before but think you would enjoy learning from an experienced group of players, then please get in touch. Likewise, any experienced pvpers out there looking for a new home would be made very welcome in RH-N.
What we can offer you:
1. Access to quality 0.0 space 2. Regular, highly organized PvP operations 3. Excellent local systems for getting your isk flow going 4. A multitude of targets, from pirates to large alliances. 5. Custom-coded alliance killboard 6. If you want to lead gang and are confident in doing so you can. The leadership of the Navy is deeply interested in allowing newer players to develop their own abilities and will work to facilitate that. 7. Friendly, helpful corp members. 8. A logistical infrastructure that can provide most T1 ships in the game at discount.
Just to be honest, we're looking for a specific type of pilot to fill the ranks of RH-N. I've had extensive experience leading a lot of pilots over the years, and I know the kind of person that I want as the vanguard of the -RH-. If you aren't a team player, then you really need not apply.
We do have the following requirements for those interested in the experience:
1) Minimum of 3 million skillpoints. 2) Ability to fly and highly capable with a Scorpion, Raven, Megathron, Armageddon, or Tempest, as well as a T2 frigate, and a mining barge or mining cruiser equipped with Mining Laser II's (mining ships and skills can be trained upon joining). Pilots should come with the required ships. 3) Active player, several hours a day 4-5 days a week. 4) Ability to be self-sufficient in terms of both cash flow and ships. 5) Being able to fly a Dreadnought or Carrier will give a substantial boost to your application. 6) Team-first attitude.
If all of this sounds interesting, or you have any other question (i.e. Why do you require the mining stuff?!?), please feel free to evemail or convo me in-game. Should I be unavailable, Corvin Blackwing is another source of contact.

Stupid alt. Anyways, I've been under him for the 5 months in SHLT and can tell you I feel a lot safer when he's making the shots lol. Good luck on the recruiting.

Best fleet commander ever, I lost 4 HACs in a month before I went under his command, and after that I only 1 which was in a un-friendly me being stupid incident. Under his command you very rarely lose ships he is very clear and has excellent tactical strategy.
I've never been in a gang as well run as Cal's.

One of the best fleet commanders I've flown with. Calc knows when to fight and when to accomplish the mission objectives. Plus he's got pirate roots

Edited by: Tetovo on 01/06/2006 07:21:46 I never lost a ship under his command. I mean there was the one time he persuaded me to bring out a scorpion, but he passed off FC to another guy to save his perfect record. He also has a good bit of yarrr in him ,

I can vouch for Calculon as an excellent leader and fleet commander. I am sure this venture will go from strength to strength and I wish you the very best of luck with it.

Daily bump.
Thanks a ton guys for all the nice things stated so far in this thread. It's nice to see that the hard work that has gone into leading, as well as maintaining those friendly relationships, is continuing to pay off now even post-SHLT.
Just for an update, we've had a few more people join, with a couple being interviewed as I type. With a little luck, we might just hit our goal of 50 active, skilled PvPers in the next few weeks.

Cal is the antidote to all of the bad PvP you have probably experienced. If you are tired of getting your ass kicked because your commander doesn't know what the hell he's doing, or thinks good tactics consist soley of 40 man blobs, then this is the place for you. Mostly smaller fleet battles, good mix of ships and excellent communication (provided you don't have the gift of gab on teamspeak.) Highly recommended. Just an Echo to whats been said already. Cal's a Great Leader and Definately know's what he's doing, so much so that I'll only follow his Command and no one else's.
I've every bit of Confidence in RH-N suceeding under his Leadership.

Daily bump, as we're definitely still recruiting. We're looking at grabbing another 40 pilots over the next few weeks.
Currently a pirate? That's ok...most of the people who you will be flying with are former pirates. You'll have plenty of people to kill (over 3000 valid targets), so becoming bored is rather hard to do.
Currently an industrial guru wanting to learn PvP, you're welcome as well! Training is something that I'm willing to do, and have a lot of experience at. *points to Brooksie, Ranged, Tetovo, Frost, etc... just in this thread*
All round PvPer? Heck yes...put in your app today! :) We need more than we have right now, and can promise you the constant action that you desire.
"Good guy" wanting to fight the "good fight"? We've got two pirate-esque alliances standing between us and our goals currently, much akin to the Rebellion versus the "Evil Empire."
We're looking for all of the above, as long as you're able to be a team player, have a mature attitude, and are willing to follow orders.

I've seen both sides to Cal over the past couple years. I consider him one of my closest real life friends, I could say plenty of good and only a little bad about him as a person/player/leader.
It's tough to find someone who is truly going to put as much into leading a team as Cal will.
I'm sure -RH- will do well in the long run given the chance to stand on both feet.
I can back up the claims that Cal can teach you anything you'll ever want to know about Eve in a short time. I come from a very extensive PvP backgroun for MMO's and gaming in general. Eve can be a bit overwhelming at first, but Cal got me up and running from the start. Under his guidance I was able to take a brand new character and be in a Raven in uder 15 days.
They have some very lofty and difficult goals ahead of them, but if anyone can accomplish them it would be a team Cal puts together.
Best of luck to Red Horizon Navy....
P.S. I still lay claim to the name, since it was my idea.

So how is one suposed to be able and capable to fly a Scorpion, Raven, Megathron, Armageddon, or Tempest, as well as a T2 frigate, and a mining barge or mining cruiser equipped with Mining Laser II's. With only 3mil sp requirement, slightly contradictory.

Edited by: Bearclaww on 04/06/2006 04:32:26 If you are into flying with capital ship fleets (ie Carrier...multiple carrier fleets) with command ship support and an excellent leader this is the corp for you. I have flown with Cal for close to 6 months now and everytime it has been a fun organized kill fest. By far the most experienced capable leader i have had the pleasure to fly with since the beginning of the game.
I am glad you got your dream of a Navy off the ground Cal. Cya in game when my IRL issues are solved
Not an alt...my main just in the process of switching corps. |

Edited by: Calculon on 06/06/2006 15:43:45 Just wanted to give this a little bump, as we're still looking for additional active, skilled, matured pilots.
For those willing to give us a look...yes we're small, but we're still very, very active. Something that might peek your interest is that we've had a net isk of 2,875,089,624 isk, since Saturday. Sure, not the same amount that D2, BoB, ASCN, and some of the other large alliances can put out in a three-day period of time (PvP ops haven't begun yet today), but I think that it's rather impressive for a small, tight-knit group like the Red Horizon Navy.

Ive only been with the corp for a short time, but ive already seen a whole lot of kills, and very few losses, even when outnumbered. That speaks well of the corp, and the corps leadership. Ive been around since beta (certain "political events" forced me into a character change a year or 2 ago), and ive flown with and against some of the best PvPers this game has had to offer. So far I like what ive seen here.

It's been great to have you and the other new recruits onboard, Xen. Heck, if it wasn't for your great work last night, we wouldn't have gotten that V.O.I.D freighter in 1VK. Excellent work tracking it down, and providing us continual intel updates. You're a keeper!

By far some of the nicest guys i have met in game. All stand up people and from what i can tell this past week very active. Saw my first Carriers (plural) with these guys. Willing to sit and chat with a noob while tracking some scum suckers that were hanging out in the area.
A++++ from me is my rating on this corp. Kind of makes me wish i was combat specced just to hang out with these guys. |
