Sure they aren't, you use them that's why.
What is there to learn? You train an alt to use a link ship and then you go rambo mode with your main character.
The huge problem I see is there is very little risk involve. You can easily apply you link ship in a safe spot of the system and simply slip away if any bad guy comes. Or, better call your links buddies to beat the living heck out of him. |

Viper Kiss wrote:Well, didn't think about that one. Not that you said or contributed anything great yourself.
Also, if something can be use it doesn't mean it's not being exploited and overpower. At the moment link ship are and you can easily see that by the huge amount of people that are using them. They were also previously nerf for a reason.
Just like when rifter was the best ship around everyone used it. Still many said, "No, overpower! You're crazy!" Also, they were using it for its main purpose. But now I ask you, isn't it more fun as it is now? Yes, it is! (oh this last part was just comparison for the ones who don't understand that.)
Somethings need to be balanced out so everyone can enjoy the game. Not only the ones, who decide to go op in rambo mode.
Apples and oranges my friend. They didn't nerf the Rifter as a solution to that problem, they buffed all of the other frigates. In that case, the problem wasn't necessarily that the Rifter was overpowered, it was that everything else was underpowered and too few viable counters existed. In the case of links, there's already a perfectly viable counter: bring your own links. |

Pretty much all I'm getting out of OP on this is that they want all ships to be the same, bland, dull, middle of the road nonsense as the Rifter because ~effort~.
Just a guess, but does this have to do with a rail Merlin killing your dual prop, A-type AB Dramiel? My twitch stream to help new players: http://www.twitch.tv/biohazrd51

If you're in a frigate, don't engage a not-so-solo frigate on your own. I'm sure you know who they are after 3 years in lowsec!
Bring friends, or your own links, or a bigger ship.

Quote:What is there to learn? You train an alt to use a link ship and then you go rambo mode with your main character. BS. Someone who doesn't use them and just comes to the forum to QQ about how everyone else's links should be nerfed, has really no clue what it takes or what the risks are.
Quote:The huge problem I see is there is very little risk involve. Of course you have a huge problem. That's quite clear.
You just mistake what your huge problem is. It's not that other people use the available legal game mechanics to their best advantage. It's that you don't and instead of recognising that it's your choices that put you at a disadvantage, you come to the forum and QQ about how the choices you refuse to make are OP. Viper Kiss wrote:I been a low-sec pvper for nearly 3 years now. I never understood why link ships, such as: Loki, Tengu, Proteus can actually be used in low sec. It's a place where small gang warfare is meant to happen. I feel that command ships really ruin the fun. Why would the Loki Tengu and Proteus not be able to be used in low sec if command ships are the ones that ruin the fun? Might want to double check the ship categories.
As for links, they'll be fine once changed to on grid only. New player resources: http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Main_Page - General information http://www.evealtruist.com/p/know-your-enemy.html - Learn to PvP http://belligerentundesirables.com/ - Safaris, Awoxes, Ganking and Griefing-á |

on this logic. iam flying a t1 frig in low sec. no one should be able to anything bigger in low sec while i am their in case i loose my frig.......
deal with it its part of the game if you know someone uses links don't fight them rather then loosing to them and then whining on the forums about it.
What about Implants are they allowed? what about boosters they allowed? god forbid someone brings a friend or 2in to fight you. should fleets not be allowed in low sec while your flying in case there fleet is larger then yours? |

Links should have to be on grid. CCP will implement it the moment they have figured out how to do it. Seems to be a lot harder to do than they thought. I don't use links so this doesn't directly effect me, but it does seem a trifle odd that links are system wide boosters and flies in the face of risk vs reward. I would perhaps suggest this to CCP. Make link modules Aoe like interdiction spheres, fleeted ships in the sphere of influence are boosted Or alternatively make link modules auto target like mid slot passive auto targeting mods except they automatically target fleet ships and apply their effects to them when in range? - maybe re-cycle the energy vamp effect in a blue electronics hue with a higher brightness to warn people off that the ships are being boosted? The graphics isn't the issue, the problem is that CCP can't figure out how to get it to work at all on a grid instead of system wide.
If a ship can show up on overview, and be targeted depending on your ship's targeting range, then they can figure it out. I don't think its on their top list of things to do right now or has been in the past couple years.
