I'm thinking of doing swapping over to the Mach for 8/10 (or higher) Angel complexes. I had a cap stable perma-sheld tank in mind, with a permanently running AB, using 800mm cannons and Berserker II's or Garde II's.
My concern is the elite frigates (or any of the frigate sized ships that web/scram). Would the Mach be overwhelmed by these, and basically get trapped down with an inability to take out these guys? I also thought about the rattlesnake, and the same question comes to mind, but my skills are mainly geared towards the mach.
Any comments would be welcome.. I've heard a mach can solo these easy, but some of those frig waves can really tie you up.

Rule of thumb is to kill small craft first. Always. Also from personal experience with the Mach I carry 5x Warrior 2's for that just in case moment. But as a Mach pilot you have the speed bonus of the Mach so you should always keep your distance and kite as much as possible, since your using auto cannons. When its comes down to it. It is all about you and the way you fly your ship and play your game.
I prefer the Vargur over the Mach. Vargur has way better tank and tracking than the Mach does.

In addition to the above I have a partial mid grad crystal set (everything but omega) and 5 +5 hardwirings (2 for cap, 1 for tracking, 1 for rate of fire and 1 for projectile damage. With my skills cap last 17 minutes with booster on. 1151 paper dps with barrage and bouncers. 1393 with my skills and RF Fusion L. Mobile depot + cloak and MWD and travel fit (warp core stabs, ECM burst, Target lock breaker etc) in cargo hold. I also carry a small amount of Hail Ammo for shooting the structure and hauler in rooms 3 and 4.
This is my Angel DED mach. In each room I warp in, point my ship straight up and MJD. Load barrage, deploy sentries and let the poor angels ZERG at me and die (i LOVE angels because of this). Shoot frigs then cruisers (insta-popping many). By the time those are dead many battleships will be close enough to switch ammo to Republic Fleet Fusion for more DPS. After everything is dead, I MJD to the gate and repeat. till the last room. Only thing that kinda slows me down is the MJD cool down, sometimes I just wait in the gate for a bit before going into next room.
In the last room I MJD straight up. Kill the Antimatter Channeler, Bookmark his wreck and warp out so the site despawns. Warp in, loot wreck, go home. Quick and easy. Would propbably work better with a Vargur but I'm a Mach man lol. |

Its been a long time since I was in angel space but everyone who knew anything about the machariel pushed their falloff out to absolute maximum. Not today spaghetti. |
