No idea, sorry I wasn't involved in that change (as far as I can remember) so there's really nothing useful I can tell you about it. |

"Station services window again shows the owner of the station."
Does this mean the station window will now have a completely useless logo like on SISI taking up most of the space that would (and currently is) used to show ships in my hanger? Another clown move guys.
On TQ i can see 4 rows of times or ships in my hanger, on TQ i can see 1.5. This change is almost as bad as the removal of fixed windows if this is indeed the big assed pointless logos im thinking of. |

Okay.. I have got to say this! I do not post to forums often but when I read the naga page and it stated that the ship would be able to use missiles. And then I read the patch notes have them missing, what the heck is going on CCP is this how you keep promises and restore trust? I hope someone reads this because i'm sure that more people feel this way, it's not a matter of the torps its about keeping consistent. Explain why you do things the way you do when you do them this is a BIG change to the naga it deserves more elaboration. Granted explaining every little change to the game would take too long but the big ones YES.
Winston
FYI ~ The ship page for the naga still reads that it can fire torps if it 's not going to be able you should change that or you will have a ton of very confused new players!
Thanks for a great game!!! ~~~~ Now Don't Ruin It |

You know that all new tier 3 battlecruisers were designed with PVP in mind, right? You know that torpedoes are useless on ~25 km range when dealing with turret-equipped counterparts right? You know that we have already Drake, that is in fact one HUGE unbalanced problem for EVE PVP and there is no reason to make another Drake, especially for happy carebearing on missions.
Please read Test server discussion forums so there will be no surprises for you next time. |

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=358849#post358849 Was posted 2 weeks ago, and anyone who's been to sisi and/or talked about the changes is not surprised.
I personally liked the torpNaga, but its role would have been limited to POS bashing and ganks, because in pvp/pve, it was not going to survive very long.

Being a Mac user it is hard for me to log into the test server .. So I never thought to read those forums yes it's role with torpedo's would have been limited. But then it was to be able to fit BOTH rails AND missiles.
Sorry for digging up the past I had no idea this had been addressed in the past ..

Code for this fix actually went in in early 2009, but the stat changes necessary to activate it "fell down the back of the sofa"; we found them again by accident last month and moved them into the Crucible release. We'll keep an eye on this and see where it ends up taking us balance-wise. What did your internal sisi testing show on this?
What was the reasoning behind putting in this massive change for a very specialized shipclass?
I suspect it was along the lines of "Oh, snap. We found some old code here that we forgot to implement at one point. Quick, to the code-mobile!" Please tell me I'm wrong and you actually thought this out.
Seriously, this will screw dictor pilots over completely and change nullsec pvp mechanics significantly. Dictors are already dying like flies, and you just took away their one way of surviving through skill. |

Moar patch notes = better patch notes. Ignore the TL;DR whiners.
If the patch deployment goes smoothly (I won't be around to see it because I'll be in class), then CCP has officially won me back. Incarna was terrible, but the ******* compromises that have been reached between CCP and the players in the forums (and what ended up in the patch notes) is insanely ******* awesome. And only in EVE do you see it.

Whoever made the change to wormhole API clearly understands w-space. I like it :)
This will give additional advantage to people who do their homework: gather intel, scan everything, guard your entrances, look for new sigs constantly. People who just look at jump stats and don't go ratting if they see any unaccounted for jumps will now have to get their lazy asses moving or rat anyway and then will be easier to find and gank.
This is well in line with the overall trajectory of Crucible: Make EVE darker, meaner, more dangerous |

The new Tech 3 Battlecruisers.
Why would you put guns on the Caldari version? Caldari are missile boats, why would you waste an entire ship and put hybrids onto the ship? What about those of us that are strictly missile based with our caldari characters? A waste of a new ship.
When are you going to fix the seeding of faction control towers? Instead of fixing it you simply removed it, and haven't said a word edgewise since.
When are you going to fix the ECM bonus to Magnatar WH systems? Instead of fixing it, you simply removed it, and haven't said a word edgewise since.
Seems to be a pattern here. |

I particularly like the "new" Catalyst, since it benefits from both the destroyer buff and the hybrid gun buff (as well as the Gallente speed buff, but that's rather irrelevant for ganking purposes). No ROF penalty, 5% damage buff to blasters, and easier to fit the full rack of 8 guns? Ouch!

I know it would be rather in-depth, and I haven't seen it mentioned in this release... But as for an idea...
Would it be possible to include FailRate? What I mean by that, is once you have a skill fully trained, it would work no differently then it does now. As of now, you cannot use an item until you have trained that skill and all pre-req's, and once you have trained the skill you can use it and you do not have to worry about losing contact with your drones (unless you warp off without them) or a weapon jamming or shield failing...
But what if you changed it to where if you are training that last primary skill, say Heavy Missile V, so you can use a Tech II launcher, and that is the last skill you would need to train to actually use that item. If you could use it WHILE it was training, but have a Fail Rate. XX % chance it jams, XX % chance it breaks and can only be reprossessed, XX % chance it blows up in use causing damage to your ship. Lose contact with your drone, or your drone attacts the wrong target because you don't have the skill to operate it @ 100%. Shields could fail, Overheat, or a vast variety of other "Oh **** not now" senarios that would add a huge element of "trial by fire" so to speak...
It would be something to sit in that shiney ship while you are training the last book, and random systems start to lose power, or warp drive goes out for XX time...
Of course not everyone would want to take the risk, and as such they could wait till that skill is fully trained, but I myself would like the opportunity to place myself in danger at my own risk. Currently, the only way to do that is to go into a mission I know I'm too small for.
Just an Idea and about a year of programming.... lol
Thanks :) |

"Launching a warp disrupt probe will give you aggression and prevent you from docking or jumping"
Allthough this closes a loophole in the existing agression mechanics, and players will undoubtly adapt to this change (no more double bubble dictors bubling both sides of a gate), it also present one particular problem:
Dropping bubbles at a distance from gates has been a tried and tested way for a small force to evade and spilt up a larger pursuing force, thus enabeling it to "nibble off" the unsuspecting taclers getting too cocky while the main force is slowburning to the gate.
Removing this ability will negatively affect the ability of smaller forces to engage a bigger force using cunning and tactics. Personally I would like to see this changed so it will cause agrression only if there are ships actually present in the bubble (except the dictor itself) when it is dropped. |

Dear CCP:
I am not a regular forum poster, but after reading the patch notes concerning the Naga, I was very disappointed and had to write.
You seem to have forgotten the Caldari use missile weapons. We don't need two hybrid Tier 3 BC platforms in the game. The omission of the torpedo launchers from the Naga just doesn't make sense at all. I was very much looking forward to having 8 siege launchers at once.
I know that you will be releasing emergency patches after the main Crucible release. I ask that with the first patch that you put out that you please restore the 8 launcher slots and the appropriate role bonuses to the Naga.
I appreciate your help, and I look forward to seeing the restored Naga soon. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Carl Anzomi

Confirming that I'm strongly considering a Thrasher BPO purchase, for the same (general) reasons. It's already my ultimate utility ship (both combat and otherwise), may as well fire up the Hulk/Covetor for a few minutes every time I need one.
I'm curious to know if the general Dessie changes (extra shield, lower sig, etc) are 'bleeding through' to the Dictors. That could offset the aggression change a little (though not by much, given the stats I've seen for a Sabre).
I may have come here from Myst Online, but that does not make me any less bloodthirsty than the average Eve player.
Just more subtle.

I have a short question to: Changes -> Ships-> Point 5
GÇóWhen you are disconnected from the server, an GÇÿattempt to return to dronebayGÇÖ command is issued to the drones you control, at the same time as the command to warp away is issued. As always, the success of drones returning to your drone bay depends upon their distance from your ship and the speed with which it enters warp.
I think, that it is a good idea and I really like it. But what will happen, if I am scrambeld and have a DC?
A: The drones will fight till the scrambler is death and after that my drones will go back to my hangar and the ship will warp out? B: The drones flees instant to my drone bay; the scrambler tackles me and my ship will explode because I can not warp out?
Again.. a good idea. But with two different possible endings.
The rest of the notes (I can not say anything concerning capitals), looks great. I hope you can implement the most of this new features within the firs try. It seems that CRUCIBLE will be another good expansion after the hapless INCARNA.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything works smoothly. Good work - so far
Greeting Callidus Dux |
