Greetings! I recently gave this game another shot with the Rhea update after a hiatus of 7 years.
Back in the day me and my corp were caught up in the RED alliance vs. BoB Mashup and thus I return with limited assets.
I do have around 17 million SP mostly in Minmatar ships. I can fly and T2 fit all the Minmatar BS, HAC`s and Cov Ops
Large amount of SP are in Gunnery, Missiles and Engeneering and related tanking/fitting skills.
I do have a Typhoon left, a Rapier and a bunch of Cruiser and tackling-fitted Frigs
However theres currently only about 50 million ISK to my name. Therefore I need to hit the missions hard again for a while to build up a bigger wallet and from there probably I`d like to progress into manufacturing/industry if the game keeps holding my interest.
Simply not enough time to do the heavy pew pew as I did when I was younger
What I am looking for is a BS fit on the cheap for lvl4 Security missions...if that is at all possible. If not lvl 3 shall do until I can properly fit for t4. Please bear in mind the money issue. 50 million is what I got to work with and a bunch of Minmatar rustbuckets
Can you surprise mir with the seemingly impossible guys?
I looked up several suggestions on this forum but basically everything is out of reach because of limited finances. I have about 2 million unallocated SP so I could crosstrain into another races cruiser/battlecruiser fairly quickly I think if necessary.
Apparently the dynamic of the game has changed massivey over the last years. I am starting like a total noob and still getting my feet wet because so much has changed. |

Basically you can't afford any sort of BS with only 50mil, however you can afford the fittings for a Battleship with 50mil, and since you already have a Typhoon you can repurpose that into a L4 runner. However you do need Cruise Missile and Sentry drone skills to get the best out of a Phoon, faction sentries are a good alternative if you don't have T2 as after the drone changes T2 sentries aren't as necessary as they once were.
Here's an MJD L4 Phoon fit:
[Typhoon, MJD L4]
Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Drone Damage Amplifier II Drone Damage Amplifier II Large Armor Repairer II Armor Explosive Hardener II
Large Micro Jump Drive Omnidirectional Tracking Link II, Optimal Range Script Omnidirectional Tracking Link II, Optimal Range Script Phased Weapon Navigation Array Generation Extron Sensor Booster II
Cruise Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Nova Cruise Missile Cruise Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Nova Cruise Missile Cruise Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Nova Cruise Missile Cruise Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Nova Cruise Missile Cruise Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Nova Cruise Missile Cruise Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Nova Cruise Missile Drone Link Augmentor II
Large Processor Overclocking Unit I Large Warhead Rigor Catalyst I Large Warhead Rigor Catalyst I
Bouncer II x4 Hobgoblin II x5
Firstly since you've been away for awhile you probably don't know what a Micro Jump Drive (MJD) is. It's a new module that can be fitted only to Battleship or Battlecruiser (Medium MJD) hulls. How it works is when you click on it it spools up for an amount of time (depending on skills) and when the spool up is complete it 'jumps' your ship 100KM in the direction you were facing. Basically this allows you to have minimal tank and maximize your dps at range by jumping away from the rats and sniping them. Cruise missiles already have a huge range and Bouncer/Warden drones can also easily hit up to 100km.
The above is setup for missions against Angels which this tactic works best against since Angel rats are short range and won't deal any damage to you at 100km. Depending on which faction you're going against it can get harder, Guristas have the longest range and their battleships can hit to 100km so those might need some extra tank. With perfect skills this deals 900dps at 100km with a 106km lock range. Also you will need to triangulate your jumps in order to get to the next acceleration gate if there is one. |

while the fit above is reasonable and will get you through most lvl4 missions without trouble (as long as you don't forget to switch hardeners), you will need solid missile and drone skills to do it effectively. if your skills are on the low side, a hurricane for lvl3 missions may be faster ISK/hour in practice. here is a cheap version of what i used to fly:
[Hurricane]
Gyrostabilizer II Gyrostabilizer II Gyrostabilizer II Gyrostabilizer II Medium Armor Repairer II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script Tracking Computer II, Tracking Speed Script 10MN Afterburner II
720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet EMP M 720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet EMP M 720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet EMP M 720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet EMP M 720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet EMP M 720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet EMP M
Medium Ancillary Current Router I Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I Medium Ancillary Current Router I
Hobgoblin II x6
if you have trained advanced weapon upgrades V, you can replace one of the power grid rigs with a warp speed rig (it helps finish missions faster).
also note that your effective mission income depends on where you fly and for which corp.
I should buy an Ishtar.

Thanks for the Input guys!
The first fit is workable for the most part. I can use pretty much everything except I need to downgrade to Arbalest Cruises or something since I am only up to 4 in Cruise Missiles and the Sentry drones will not be doable as of now and I will try and just use the T2 Hogoblins and T1 Berserkers and see how that goes until I got Sentry drones up to 5 and then move into T2 sentries.
The Hurricane fit looks nice. Very similar to what I used way back minus all the rigging stuff. I see if I can give this a go if the downgraded version of the BS isnt workable in LvL 4s |

the typhoon fit relies heavily on good dps, as the tank is pretty weak. if you manage to kite well enough with the help of the microjumpdrive, you may be ok but without t2 launchers and sentries you might get in trouble. be aware of the following points: - mission rats will sometimes switch aggro onto your drones, so keep an eye on them or you will lose them. - if you get warp scrambled by a mission frigate, your microjumpdrive will still work, so you can use it as a GTFO button. - faction sentries are almost as good as T2 and require less skill investment for a reasonable price.
I should buy an Ishtar.
