Oh bloody hell. I think I have RL commitments this coming Friday or I'd love to come and test out my Punisher. :(
If any of the people competing sticks around I'll be more than happy to fight you on Saturday to see how it would hold up.
Best of luck, I wish it was on Saturday. -- Small-time pirate. Upgraded from trial account as of 14th September 2006. Loving every part of EVE so far. \o/ Low SP piracy |

Oooh! Rescheduled!
I hope I didn't come off as whiny in my initial post, I was just very sad to miss it.
I am definetly coming now, although I do not expect to win anything. :)
Looking forward to it! -- Small-time pirate. Upgraded from trial account as of 14th September 2006. Loving every part of EVE so far. \o/ Low SP piracy |

I would guess (and hope) that it disqualifies you from any other fights. It's weak. -- Small-time pirate. Upgraded from trial account as of 14th September 2006. Loving every part of EVE so far. \o/ Low SP piracy |

Edited by: Intigo on 05/11/2006 09:13:37 Are you allowed to change your ship/change fit mid-tournament because of the opponent you are facing?
For example: I use one ship, let's say an Incursus, in my first fight. If I then win and I know what my opponent is using, can I change to a second ship (the ship I was planning to use if I was sent to the loser bracket originally) and use that instead?
2 ships in total, still. -- Small-time pirate. Upgraded from trial account as of 14th September 2006. Loving every part of EVE so far. \o/ Low SP piracy |

Great fun, I'm sorry for bailing after I won my first 2 fights, but I was really too frickin' tired and needed some sleep before work.
Most likely I would have lost in the end regardless - even my Dual Rep Punisher can't out-tank a very well fitted Incursus. =p -- Small-time pirate. Upgraded from trial account as of 14th September 2006. Loving every part of EVE so far. \o/ Low SP piracy |

Since I'm home from work now and actually have time to write a meaningful post I'll just elaborate a little on what could be done better for the next tournament (I'm sure Bagehi already knows some of this as it was discussed ingame during the tournament, just dotting it down for reference :)).
- Starting range - this was actually working semi-well during the start, but in the end was thoroughly messed up. You shouldn't gang-warp with the participants right next to you, they land right on top of you if so. If you just had 1 guy warp in at a certain range and the other ~10-15km away from that range that would be fine. While my ship is fitted for close combat and benefitted from this, long range ships were completely f'ed due to starting at 0-5km range.
- With the previous point in thought, perhaps we should consider having an "arena size", so Kestrels/arty Rifters/other long-range fitted boats can't just freely fly the exact opposite direction of their enemy for ages, but would need to stay inside a designated radius.
- Bit faster - I personally had to leave because it was taking quite a bit longer to get going than I had first anticipated - this is understandable as it was the first tournament, of course.
Please realise this is all constructive criticism. I'm sure you've learnt a great deal from this tournament and the next one will show that. :)
I enjoyed myself immensely, I'm just sad that I didn't have time to stay around for the later matches to really test my Punisher fit vs some tough / DPS-fitted opponents.. For anyone interested, my 2nd (and last, due to falling asleep afterwards, heh) match vs st4rscre4m I recorded - both of us were T2 / named fitted (no editing at all, not very interesting as we're both in Punishers ;)): http://www.klauz.dk/st4rscre4m.avi That's the fit I wanted to test vs something that could really put the dual rep to good use - but would prolly have lost regardless, atleast from what I tried against kublai's Incursus.
Bottom line: Great fun. I type too much. Looking forward to next one. -- Small-time pirate. Upgraded from trial account as of 14th September 2006. Loving every part of EVE so far. \o/ Low SP piracy |

Hey - think we could organise a friendly duel 1on1 just to hull or something at some point? My Punisher vs your Kestrel - would love to see how it holds up. :)
