Tried installing the "pre-release" launcher. Yet to see if it helps. Am I now going to have to see the pop up warning every time I start the game?

Yep, but the way I see it it's a small price to pay to actually be able to play the game. I won't even attempt to go back to the old launcher until I stop hearing about issues with it (never?) |

I had the same problem. Come to find out that when I installed eve. Both the game and sharedcache folder where on the same drive and the eve installer didn't set the permissions correctly to the sharedcache folder. |

How did you resolve the issue with the cache?
Thanks

I have the OS drive, C:, and the game drive, D:.
Eve and the sharedcache folder are both on the D:. The eve installed does not setup the permissions correctly. So, I changed the permissions for my user account on the sharedcache folder.
"D:\ProgramData\CCP\EVE\SharedCache\" is what I'm talking about.
1. Right click on the CCP folder "D:\ProgramData\CCP\", click on properties. 2. Click on the Security Tab. 3. Click the Edit button, Click yes if prompted. 4. Select the "Users" item in the list. Mine looks like "Users (HOME\Users)" 5. Check off Modify and Write under the Allow column. 6. Click OK, wait for it to finish and click OK 7. Now try to run the launcher.
That should at the very least make sure that your user account can make changes to the sharedcache folder. This also let the repair tool work.
If you do reinstall Eve, then you might have to do this process all over again. |
