This is not something that could probably happen anywhere in the near future, or even on the PS3 at all. But here is how I would envision a PVE experience with EVE.

An EVE player would discover a location in space. Maybe a planet, moon, asteroid, derelict station etc.
An EVE player would need to bring a squad to retrieve something from the surface.
Once the EVE player has deployed the ground force, he would cooperate with the ground team by providing Intel, and with OB strikes. However the EVE player would need to face period PVE waves himself.
For the Dust squad. Ground missions would involve a short A to B phase through some course, followed by a point defense, while completing some objective.
A basic example:
Fight your way to some control room, defend control room for 10 minutes, while repairing some "thing".
Repairing would involve using a rep tool, then 'hacking' components in sequence to repair some bigger thing.
Components could be damaged in battle. This would force Logi's to flip back and forth from repair/battle duties, or have a good squad to fully defend the repairmen while they dedicate to the repair job.
When completed EVE and Dust players get a big juicy reward, along with their sense of teamwork and accomplishment.
- EVE / Dust link - PVE - Fun - Complex enough to feel like something very new - Basic enough could be mix and matched endlessly to make all missions feel a bit different. - Something in it for EVE players to work with Dust.
Everybody wins Now, another player named DJINN Jecture added this suggestion based on my feedback that these missions could be structured like Burner missions EVE-side:

I think that could go a long way toward making the game feel more like a part of New Eden than it is now.

Seconded, better content for mission runners than the burner missions (Small shiips frigs and destroyers/t3 dessis)on a profit level would be appreciated in something similar to 2012 mission reward levels having cross game content would be nice as well.
Is it a tarp?

I hope the missions would be streamed towards L4 mission types for small ships without the burner type of setup, having only one or two ships really good for the type of mission makes it kind of exclusive for some pilots until they have skills or isk to get the other ship.
Alternatively doing Exploration sites where we find mercenaries stranded and needing to be picked up (they que up pve and wait on players in system to come rescue them may be an idea as well provided they were at anomalies rather than signatures. Ofc what has been mentioned about the DED sites seems true too, they have enough reward in them (kinda usually) to make it worth eve pilot time to take mercs there for some kinda Dust side interaction.
Is it a tarp?

That would probably require some extensive interface work Dust-side, but that would be some neat variety to have to the usual gameplay in Dust.
