Neut Towers can drain you dry in a few seconds. You always land well within range of them and yes you can MJD away but that means you have to seriously keep on your toes as you are sat with no cap and trying to kill stuff as it approaches. I tried for quite some time with a Golem and spent ages trying to achieve a way of doing them (Also bear in mind I have mastery V in Golem and every possible skill needed at V as well as implants and a command ship boosting) . I eventually gave up with it and switched to a Rattlesnake. It is possible to do most solo in that although I do still use command ship and often a tengu just to speed it up a little. In regard to LPs. With skills im just over 90k Lps per mission...sometimes a little less depending on which one. Bounties are pretty poor and compare with lvl 4 missions. Although some missions with tags are not too bad but only usually around 30 mill or so. In regard to the LP store I cant really comment as I am doing them for a poor faction in a quiet low sec area mainly just to see how hard they are and just for fun mainly. So the Lp store sucks really unless you want to trade in for +5s and make isk that way but it does not add up to much in all honesty.
Hope this helps |

lvl 5s can be done in a Rattler, go in mission, mjd away, ignore neut towers. It needs to be fully passive and take a mobile depot to refit your lows from, from DDA's and BCU's to Shield relays depending on the incoming dps. They are easily done solo in a Rattle and the lp is good, exchange is about 5-600 isk/lp but at 95k per mission makes up for it. Carriers can blitz missions but Rattle is good for gated ones. |

Guys, I don't see any points doing lvl5 missions atm. You get in lowsec almost all the risks of 0.0, but you get for a big mission only 90k lp with exchange rate 500 isk. So for a long mission you are getting roughly 45 mils. Why not just do lvl4 in 0.0, actualy not even lvl4, but lvl4 burners missions and some missions you can blitz. For a burner you get around 22k lp with exchange rate between 2500-3500 isk / lp. So for a burner you will get minimum 60 mils and for a base burner 80 mils (i am using 2500 isk / lp in this calculation). In hour with 2 characters you can do 4 (very relaxed) to 6-7 burners per hour (tbh i never tried to set a record, but usualy it take 1 minute to kill a burner, 1-5 minutes travel time). |

There are more than a few players earning upwards of 300m ISK/hour simply blitzing L4s and Burner missions in high-sec, so I can't see the rationale for justifying the substantial increased risk with the pittance of a reward by comparison.
I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

You can do things to mitigate the risk. keep an eye on local. make sure ur overview is set to see combat propes and keep an eye on short dscan for probes/ships
if your not in bastion and u see probes np decide if u want to fight or warp.
if u are in bastion then hopefully u have mjd away from the warp in. and u have some time. if u prealigned when u entered bastion u shud be aligned when u exit. so just warp
if tackle lands on grid they will have to burn ~100km for u. obviously if they are in a snaked linked inty they will be on u in seconds.
but if they are not it will take longer.
i guess if your cycle of bastion had only just started you should prepare for the worst. but in bastion they cannnot scram u. when u exit bastion could u potentially insta arp if pre alinged? not sure.
remember a long point will not stop ur mjd. so if they are only pointing u align, then mjd, then warp.
i guess if u fail to see the probes on descan and they send a recon after you, u are probably dead. you cant see combat recons on d-scan anymore.
anyway im just gonna get a rattler for level 5's |

The majority of level 5 missions are of the type that if you use bastion mode you will die. Keep moving and be aligned to somewhere you can get safe or give yourself a chance to escape. It does not take long to scan a bs down if you know what your doing . Guarantee if you use it you will be caught fast. I've been running 5 s for a long time now and have been hunted multiple times but never once yet had anyone land on grid with me. You need to be organised and attentive. If you can't be arsed then can guarantee you will get caught. |
