Hi,
I have the "acquiring bulk data" problem (here), and because the GMs can't help, I think a new ADSL router could help. I want to buy another router but don't know which will work with this game. So if you have ADSL connection, and you have an ADSL router, I would like to ask you, what kind of router do you have?
Thank you for your help.

Not an "ADSL" router per se, just a generic LAN router that has Ether ports both ends, and does support PPoE: The Netgear WGT624. An old piece of kit, these days. I had the "acquiring bulk data" issue once, after one of the patches. By deleting cache and simply waiting for about half an hour, it cleared. Lucky me.

Now, after a bit "acquiring" the client restarts. I've tried delete the whole cache folder, reinstall game, ... but no use. Tried to apply rules in the router (port forwarding, port triggering, ...), apply rules to firewall (even close it) but the same :( Now I have a Micronet SP888B ADSL router. Everything is working fine, except EVE, but the GMs don't want to do anything.

restart the router
try dmz for a minute and see if that would work

If I "skip" the router, and my PC connected directly to the modem, I can log in. With the virtual DMZ setting in the router, I can't login. I've restarted the router many times.

My Draytek router works just fine but it's probably not the cheapest.

I'm running a 3Com OfficeConnect 3CRWDR100A DSL router and it's fine. No problems with Eve at all. |

Edited by: Palator on 03/01/2007 22:24:48 I had an older Qwest modem and dlink wireless router, and had the bulk data problem. I tried everything with the router settings, to no avail. Ended up even canceling my account for a couple months. Finally decided to upgrade my old Qwest dsl modem(kind of thought the real problem might be with the old modem and not the dlink wireless router). Upgraded to the newer Qwest dsl modem/wireless router unit(2Wire 2700HG), and problems solved. I have yet to see what sort of other problems I might run into, yet, as I just installed the unit last night. So far, though, the game seems to be rock solid. So glad to be back up and on the game again!!
