How do you make salvage drones auto salvage? or has this feature being disabled?
The reason i ask is that i have to co-ordinate 5 drones and 3 salvagers on my noctis along with 5 tractorbeams...... and i noticed on the EVElopedia it claims they auto salvage.
Have i missed the nerf they recieved forcing them to be manual salvagers?
Any and all help would be gratefully recieved. |

Launch drones, make sure you have NOTHING targeted and then give the command to engage ( it is F on my system, not logged in so I can't remember if that is default). They will then carry on salvaging until there is nothing left for them to do, and you can target items, tractor them, salvage them or whatever without affecting the drones.
However, if you have something targeted BEFORE you give the command to engage, the drones will only salvage the targeted item(s) and stop once they are done.
CCP logic.

They will prioritize closest first with this.
However, you can order one (or more) drones to change target after starting them going this way, and they will salvage what you order them to then go back to closest first.

Alternatively telling them to engage an NPC or a mobile tractor unit will get them to auto "aggro" wrecks. I find it easier to send them after the MTU than unlock everything.

This is 100% not what you asked, but I would recommend ECM drones for a noctis instead of salvage, in case someone goes after you. |

I believe with auto salvage they go with closest to you rather than closest to them.
You can also some get some rather odd behavior due to the fact they all target the same wreck. They will head 100 km out to a wreck only to have it disappear when another drone gets it and then trundle back 100km in the opposite direction.
This will be less of an issue if you leave the wrecks you tractor in to the Noctis for the drones.
One useful trick is to dump a MTU as it will collect wrecks for them to play with. of course an MTU will also attract unwanted human attention (though I have not heard of CODE putting a licence fee on salvage ops yet). |

I probe down MTUs from time to time and euthanize them.
They are very easy to probe down compared to most combat ships, although the Magpie one is hard to probe. IIRC, normal MTUs they are on par with shield buffer tanked battleships, Packrats are on par with battleships without +sigrad penalties, and Magpies are on par with frigates.

Thanks and every little helps, although my noctis comes out when i'm relatively (Looking over my shoulder) safe or i'm in a fleet and need a super hoover.
Although is eve ever safe? |

There is no safety in EVE at all. If it doesn't look like a trap, it's just a trap you do not understand.
