In the subscription options, if i opt to change my credit card details, there is no option to switch to Visa Electron. Is this normal?

I don't know if this applies to you (I'm in the US), but I use a MasterCard debit card and it works fine for all of my Eve purchases.

It is better to pay for account services by game time. I cannot use any of listed cards, why I expelled from that service? -- Best mining place here < |

You can use mastercard or visa debit cards, but one of the most common in the uk is maestro which is not supported.
I just see i as being a bit stupid not to support maestro or other debit card as most companys use these forms of payment all over europe.

I find a lot of online services do not support it, which sucks as if they did I could stop relaying on my parents card half the time.

Its a pain relying on you parents card, it almost stop me from joining eve just because they did not support my type of debit card

Yeah. A lot of people in the UK rely on Maestro or Solo cards. When you're 16, your bank (if you have one), gives you a Solo or Maestro card. You won't get a MasterCard or Vista untill you're 18 and request one, or you're earning over a certain amount of money (afaik).
For the love of all that is holy, please incorperate Solo and Maestro card support. I was using Paypal up until about just over a year ago, and when you stopped doing that, I had to rely on third-party GTC sales to pay for my account. This is both an inconvience, and even if you do officialy support them, it can still be seen as a lack of security by some.
I'm really suprised you still havn't allowed users to use these types of cards. I see German direct debit is supported - why not UK? --- Cache Clearer |

Raqzorgate i had the same problem...i live in holland and yet when i first opend my account i paid with my Maestro card via direct debit......but when it came time for my second payment....ccp kept giving me errors....they also never got around to fixing it.
So the way i see it...they will let ya pay with direct debit once....then after that they wont take it again......personaly i think its just a way of making you pay with a credit card.....but i refuse to do that...so timecards will have to do for now.
a good site to get your timecards from is www.shatteredcrystal.com/ ...not only are they very quick but they also accept paypal......good luck m8;)

so why just credit cards???....why dont you accept any other forms of payment such as paypal or Maestro?....not everyone has a credit card so your excluding alot of potential players.....i just think this is wrong.....same with the portrait swapping system and char transfer.....you HAVE to have a credit card to do that.......you are discriminating against alot of people who dont have credit cards to do that.

This is just the first phase in a number of improvements being made to the billing system. While I do not know about Maestro or Solo support, I do know that Paypal will be added as an option in coming months.

Upgrading account services, wasn't any sort of upgrade a normal online consumer would care about. Let me explain.
Eve Online is a MMORPG, that has been established beyond a reasonable doubt.
As such, there may (and almost certainly will) come a time in everyone's life where they must leave the community due to real life concerns.
A player attempting to return after an extended absence has NO avenue for contacting CCP, aside from email and petitions, to obtain assistance with their account. We have a pilot in such a situation. Login name vaguely remembered, email address used to register possibly inactive, password long gone. Who do does he, or we by proxy, contact in such an event? There is nothing in the FAQ other than setting up a new account. How does this help the established community? Where is OUR help?
Filing a petition and receiving a response that the user needs to supply information ensuring identity of a user is of little use to a use that cannot login, now is it?
CCP needs to seriously re-think the customer support venue here.
I attentively await your reply. Feel free to contact me via my registered email address.

Guess this isn't the 1st time a dev is lying or 'not telling the whole and complete truth'. Kieron didn't expect something like this from you though. Because according to one of your GMs you don't accept Visa Electron. Thanks a lot for getting my hopes up for nothing. |

Celros, they do not support Visa Electron although Kieron sort of says they do. It seems that 'account services' does not include subscription/payment/billing services. They only seems to mean unrecurrable (or some such) services like character transfer, portrait swap etc. |

Can top up using debit cards and then use online like a ccard. Just pay as you go credit cards tbh.
