News reaches Gutter Press, that the Tribal Liberation Force is on the verge of a historic victory in the militia war, with TLF fighters in position to capture all of the warzone, a feat that has never before been accomplished by the TLF.
Liberation !
While Gutter Press has previously reported on the possibility of a TLF victory, such reports were premature, with the Amarr forces being able to hold on to a single system, before eventually reversing the TLF advance.
Vindication !
Sources within the Republic Fleet have indicated that YC118 victory medals are in plentiful supply, despite the recent scandals involving previous unissued campaign medals.
Medals !
Sanmatar Maleatu Shakor is rumoured to be preparing to make a speech which will likely be broadcast on the 20th or 21st of this month, congratulating the TLF members, and issuing demands to the Imperial authorities.
Reactions to the historic outcome have been varied: "I think this'll make that new Empress make some concessions", said a Sebiestor starship mechanic, formerly resident in Amamake. "I'm not sure that there's anything left to liberate over there. I thought everywhere had been evacuated", wondered a Sebiestor exotic dancer. "I hope this is the beginning of the end of the war", said a Sebiestor motorcycle hooligan. "I've heard this was facilitated by the release of those new Citadel things", said a Sebiestor bartender. "I bet Shakor's speech will make that Brutor lot claim it was them, and not the Sebiestors that won it", opined a Sebiestor environmental technician.
Gutter Press will continue to monitor the situation and report on any changes.

Death. To. Amarr.
The Elder Fleet has been rebuilt! Wasn't actually formed up for the final system....but it does indeed exist once more. The cowardly oppressors fell so fast that the Elder Fleet wasn't even able to get into position fast enough for the final bash. Instead the final battle was more of a steam roll from a several dozen rusty ships and a few general militia capital ships.
I look forward to my medal commemorating approximately 8 years of service to the ideals of freedom. |

Pssh. Gutter Press, guys.
Though looking at the map the entire warzone is under Minmatar control.

My congratulations to the TLF. Now maybe CONCORD will come up with a better solution than wargames for eggers that tear entire systems apart, the Republic and the Empire will open diplomatic negotiations, and all weapons get turned into festival launchers while the empires, pirates, Sleepers and Drifters hold hands and sing happy songs together in a peaceful New New Eden where there is no poverty or hate or crime.

Absolutely nothing! You can't even get free coffee from a 'militia' cafeteria by flashing it at the cafe lady!
Same thing with the ranks, in fact. They also mean nothing. I had never seen any capsuleer getting an armada under their command because of these ranks either. Decision on who leads what armada is always under contractors' own jurisdiction.
I say give it another few months and the Amarr will move right back in again.

Slight correction. I've been getting free coffee in Tzvi from the Cafe Marlinea for the last six years. A Gallente run joint, my militia status has meant nothing there from day one. The rest of your points remain true. |

I think last time this happened, someone jinxed it, and it didn't turn out to be a victory at all. |

Congratulations to the Matari on your, "victory."
Outside of thousands of Matari dead, what have you achieved with it?
That's right, nothing save bragging rights.
I understand your fixation on the Empire, but you're really fighting the wrong enemy.
Cut the strings. End the pendulum war.

Everyone fighting in the proxy wars are indeed fighting for nothing, but they're certainly not fighting the wrong enemy. There is a point in fighting, providing a symbol and displaying the values and principles you fight for, to baseliners and others. It's a matter of inspiring rather than achieving military goals and such.
Which of course makes this 'victory' entirely bloody pointless indeed, but the fight itself is not.

Except for inspiration, of course.
But then, that fades pretty quickly after a few months of, "I thought we won?"

And here I was hoping they'd take out the Feds' early warning system. It's not like, you know, they haven't shot blues before.

Oh I'd love to see what dread consequences await for stepping over that line. Let's see if it's proportional to the consequences the Empire is dealing with for stepping over the line into the Day of Darkness. |

I think whatever demands Shakor makes will be tempered somewhat by the fact that the Minmatar were the last to achieve (temporary) dominance in the warzone.
Come to think of it, what, if anything, happened when the Amarr achieved that ? I don't recall offhand.
I do remember when the Caldari achieved it, the then Executor, Tibus Heth, sold the captured Gallente systems to the Megacorporations. Which didn't exactly work out well in the end.
And when the Gallente achieved it, then something else happened with the invasion of Caldari Prime, I think ?
