I read in passing something about a train of noobships somewhere, but I really did not pay attention to it. Then yesterday I saw a virtual train of Velators going from gate to gate with 1-3 day old characters with names like 'Rtyuijdhgf' and so on.
What is this? Are someone using trial-accounts to macro missions? Why noobships?
And I wonder, are there anything we the players can do to help CCP with these things. I would so much like to help out in any way, but I am unsure as to what to do. I could of course write down every charname and report it, but under what category? What is CCP itself doing to combat such matters? |

They're macro couriers and traderoute runners. There are hundreds of them.

I think the post you're referring to might be http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=530268&page=1#1
You could sit on a gate and smartbomb them, I guess, if you really wanted to. __________________________________________________

Except for the fact that it was high-sec
But would it do any good to take down their char-names, and report them to CCP? Or do they typically recycle these chars after a few days? We, the players, could be a great resource to CCP to clean up this mess fast I guess.
If these chars come from so called sweat-shops, then ban those IPs? I dunno. Suggestions? |

You could do that. All the alt trains I've seen have kept the chars going for a time in excess of two weeks, so it's not like the isk-seller spam alts that recycle many times per day. Banning IPs isn't an option, as IPs are typically dynamic so some poor soul would inherit that IP and find hisself banned from EVE until he gets a new IP. __________________________________________________

Edited by: Gaven Blands on 12/06/2007 11:58:58 When I saw them, they appear to be trial accounts.
People screwing Eve while CCP make no cash out of it? I approve. Maybe the inept bastards will get round to fixing the farmers if they're not making any cash out of it.

I counted 48 in Adiere.
Add them to your bio (takes a while), petition, tell em to look in your bio, they may get removed.
Worked for me.

Have a look at the characters' contract history - you'll find that a lot of them are regularly accepting contracts for 1 unit of ammo for millions of ISK from the same character. Find those characters, the launderers, then petition them for "exploit - ISK selling".

At the moment there are what seems 20-30 of them running to and from Combined Harvest Warehouse in Caslemon. I have reported them, just hope the GMs can do something about it. Go have a look.... |
