Edited by: Turion Ceina on 23/06/2007 16:14:57 This can get confusing so I'm taking this step by step.
1: I bought some Silvery Omber 2 or 3 jumps away from the station you start at in the demo and went there to pick it up.
2: I went to a station listed as buyer 6 jumps away with the bought Ombers in the cargo bay.
3: I docked at the station and opened the Assets window but the Silvery Omber was not listed.
4: Opened the Market window with Region filter, selected Silver Omber and the station is still listed as buyer. But the Jumps column shows station and the Range shows 3 jumps, so they don't match (maybe they're not supposed to?).
5: If I set the filter to Station, only regular Omber is listed to the left and Silvery/Golden Omber disappears. For regular Omber however both Jumps and Range columns show station. So I bought 1 Omber at this station and this item is listed in the Assets window and I can sell it.
To sum it up, I can't sell Silvery Omber at a station listed as buyer. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

just with the rest of your items in the station, you can also right click the omber and choose to sell it from the drop down list instead of looking at your assets. ____________

Yes, to sell anything it has to be in the station hanger items. Not in a ship or cargo container.
About the 'range' listing on the market, that's how far away from the station or system the buy order applys to. At any point withing 3 jump gates of that system, you could have sold to that order.
Hence, orders listed as 'region' are available to be sold to anywhere in that region. (However, their price is usually the worst available.) ____________________ Skill Showroom |

Any buy order for less than a region wide order is meaning less until the region wide order is filled. The goods always go to the highest bidder, so if the region wide order is not the lowest, it will buy up any goods before they can go to lower priced orders.

Edited by: Daeva Vios on 24/06/2007 12:16:25 To be certain everyone understands how buy orders work, it's really pretty simple: The highest bidding order with a range that includes the station containing the goods you are selling gets filled first. It doesn't matter if the range is Region, 10 Jumps, Solar System, or Station. If you attempt to sell to a lower bidder, you will still be filling the highest order.
To further clarify this, let me give you an example.
Say I'm sitting in Jita 4-4 and I just set a Solar System-wide Buy Order for 5000 Trit for 2.5 isk each. Someone else is sitting in Perimeter and just set a Region-wide Buy Order for 5,000 Trit for 0.1 isk each, and these are the only two Trit buy orders. Since my order pays more, if anyone sells Trit in Jita, my order will be the one that gets filled. However, if anyone sells trit anywhere else in the region except Jita, the region-wide buy order will be filled.

This is actually not working for me currently. I'm trying sell to a high buy order in range and meeting min sell qty, and it's trying to sell to a cheaper region wide buy order. Something is amiss can anybody explain, this could be a bug or known issue.

You are certain that the buy order includes the station where you are at, and that you have atleast the minimum quantity requested by the buyer?
In that case I would check to see if you are trying to sell more of the item than that buyer is requesting. If you have too much of an item, the system will default to the best priced order that will take all of what you have. Try using shift+drag to split your stack into a small pile.
