I don't buy it. Someone please dig up this rotting corpse of a subject and explain to me how it's possible?

6 Shield Power Relay IIs 5 Large Shield Extender IIs 3 Core Defence Field Purger IIs
598 HP/sec.
Hardly a usefull setup as youre stuck with 0% EM resist, but not the point, is it?
EDIT: Suppose you really wanted to push things, get in gang with a Leviathan and a max-skilled gang pilot. This would net you a recharge time of 85 seconds for a shield HP of nearly 30k. Or a peak recharge of 823HP/sec. EDIT2: Forgot le implants. 909HP/sec with both 5% implants.

It's really easy, just as these people showed you. However, I like to still shoot the occasional cruiser with my guns, and the Myrm has a lot of high slots for guns.
The power drain is already 0. I say take off 1 of your 6 LSE's and dump a cap booster w/ 800s (you'll need them) to compensate for having next to NONE cap regen.
Plus, you need that cap for them looooong ass warps. AKITAS!!!11 |

I ran that in a spreadsheet and got a recharge rate of 210 hp/s. What formula did you use?

Shame t2 rigs are so horribly expensive.
But on the other hand alot of things would be knocked out of balance with them being common... 3 of them = 4 t1 rigs. ---------------------------------

So the hp/s isn't just calculated by dividing the max shield points by the recharge time?

Without gang bonuses:
3x Core defence field purger II 5x large shield extender II 6x SPR II
661.57 hp/sec regen
With gang bonuses: 760.8 hp/sec regen
You get a much better tank with 2 invul fields though.
With two invul fields - 1607 DPS, 526 hp/sec (avg tanked) Without - 1306 DPS, 760 hp/sec (avg tanked)
Of course, miss one max regen cycle due to a volley from artilery shells and you're screwed. =p

That doesn't look right, not even using the pre-nerf 1400s recharge.
Anyways, Navy Mega and some other faction BS ships do over 500 with 1 invul.

The numbers i posted were peak recharge rate. Shield, like capacitor, doesnt recharge in a linear fashion, but sortof curved. The peak recharge is around 30% capacitor/shield, where the multiplier is 2.4 (Or 2.5, i think theyre still debating this.)
So for peak recharge you want (HP / Recharge Time) * 2.4.

How about, no formula, but pen and paper?
Base 3906 shield 1400 regen Shield: (3906 + 5 * 2625) * 1.25 * 1.05 = 22353 (Base shield + number of shield extenders * shield boost from each extender ) * Skill * implant Regen: 1400 * 0.75 * 0.75^3 * 0,76^6 = 85,4s (Base regen * skill * rigs * Shield power relays)
22353/85,4 * 2,4 = 628 shield / sec at peak. (Shield / recharge time * peak shield recharge multiplier )

Caldari skills overlap with gallente a lot...well, gunnery skills and engineering/electronics skills do...

So a maxed out drake with full skills, SEIIs, SPRIIs and CDFPIIs will regen about 440 hp/s at maximum. I get it now.
So my next question is, would this be worth forsaking shield resist modules?

If you decide to do a quick search or even read the entire thred you will see that no, 1-2 invuls are better then all LSE's |

Usually not, as pointed out above. To illustrate it best:
A recharge rate of 100HP/sec against 0% EM resist comes down to this: You can tank 100HP/sec of pure EM damage.
A recharge rate of 100HP sec against 50% EM resist (IE a tech1 hardner added) is 200 HP/sec of pure EM damage tanked. (Why? Because the 50% EM resistance means your shield only takes half of the damage, or in other words: Twice as much damage is needed to break the recharge)
So, even if you lose a bit of HP/sec by losing a recharger and adding a hardner, this is usually worth it. Especially for example in missions, where you know which damage type you face.

Edited by: Pottsey on 17/08/2007 10:31:21 ôBullsh***!ö Pretty sure around here somewhere I have a screenshot hitting way over 600 or was it 800? My 600+ setup is not a combat setup but 450 is very easy to do.
ôIf you decide to do a quick search or even read the entire thred you will see that no, 1-2 invuls are better then all LSE'sö I prefer LSEÆs my self. LseÆs mean more SPRÆs lots of invuls can cause cap problems. Also extender mean your recharge curve is extended and often you can tank with Hitpoints alone not needing regen.
Recently I have been using PDS over SPRÆs and just using tons of hitpoints.
ôThe peak recharge is around 30% capacitor/shield, where the multiplier is 2.4 (Or 2.5, i think theyre still debating this.)ö Its in-between 2.4 and 2.5.I round it to 2.5 as its closer to 2.5 others use 2.4. Peak recharge is really something like 29.8555555 as I recall. Its pretty hard to work it out and be 100% right.
"EDIT2: Forgot le implants. 909HP/sec with both 5% implants." What about Mindlink? 15% hitpoints stacks oddly with gang skills. In gang with all implants but no Titan it should be 5% shield recharge adn 20% hitpoints.

600 dps tank on a BC even with 0% resist is nothing to be ashamed of. Still very strong.
