You won't be able to kill a decent Inti, but that inti will not be able to kill you either if you have a half decent fitting (1 web, damps). Just make sure you are alligned. Also do not just autofire your missiles against intis, you will want to hit them when they are slow, make a turn, just bumped you or such. Try to use t2 launchers with high prec missiles.
Target painters on Stealth bombers are utterly useless, unless you fit them to help out that torp raven, in which case I would still consider damps better.
That's about all there is to it.

I recently had a Battle in my Bomber.
I killed Manticore, Ares, Wolf and allmost an Ishkur, but it docked. There was also a Hawk, but i couldnt attack him because of a joining arazu on the field. That was the best und funniest fight i ever had.
A good ceptor pilot will kill the bomber, a bad one will be popped by it.

in general, the ceptor will always win. Stealth bombers just way to fragile, their real role is travelling in large packs and then sneaking up on unexpected campers.

You will also be completly unable to do anything if the bomber has a single damp on you. Unless of course you fly into its webrange which would drop your impressive speed down to not so impressive 1100m/s(well its still impressive considering your webbed but not "laughing at precision cruise"-impressive if you get my drift ).
But your right on one thing, a wellfitted and flown inty should never die to a stealthbomber as it would be pretty dumb to fly into webrange especially if its your last option to engage. Its a trap.

A single damp won't affect me (with the Crow) since it will only cut in half my targeting range of 36 Km. Hence I would drop my orbit to 17 Km which is way above webs.

Actually it reduces your targeting range by 61% and not by half at good skills. Which would bring you to 14.43km max range, which leaves you 1.43km margin of error for a overloaded web when setting your orbit distance. Thats a very fine line, but you are quite correct that it is possible for atleast a crow. I stand corrected.

Not at all, really. Since there are 8 different ceptors you are right for 7/8 (or 87,5% of cases). I was just pointing out that this would not apply to my Crow. My exact targeting range is 39.6 Km since I always fly at least with an alt in gang order to enjoy my skirmish warfare skills

How many people posting here have actually even FLOWN a SB?
If you find an Inty I suggest you give a long hard thought before engaging.
You say web, scram and MWD. How the hell are you going to get him into web range? If you cant damp him it aint happening. And even if you do he'd be dumb to get into web range.
If you have the equipment to web damp and scram him and try to get up close via your cloak, hes gonna clear 2k before you have him locked cause you probably dont have any sensor boosters.
You can set up a SB to be a good all around ship or to fight dumb intys. You either have lots of damps and sensor boosters and are good all around, or you have a few damps and webs to grab inty's. You shouldnt need a web for normal SB work because if your that close your dead anyways.
Your strongest asset with a SB is the fact you dont take damage by dampening them to a lock range lower then your optimal distance and can start the engagement aligned in case things go south. The only way you'll beat an inty is if hes just dumb or you catch a lucky break.
In the situation above I'd use that 30k as my minimum engagement distance PERIOD. ANYTHING below 30k and I stay cloaked and try to move to a more advantageous position. That applies to anything with guns.
Given the 30k, I'd align on something, uncloak, lock, fire all and if he even twitched warp out. Your hoping hes just off his guard enough (Chatting, looking at the map, whatever) to miss the lock and your missiles get there before he spins up the micro. If he reacts to the lock and fire quickly you better start warping cause your gonna be having at best a draw.

Inty pilot with decent reaction time and setup should toast a stealth bomber before the second volley is fired. Every time.

I do believe that a good bomber pilot can take out any ceptor pilot that is stupid enought to come close to it. hi : 3x cruise II (paradise precision), cloak med : 2x phased moon sensor damps, fleeting propulsion inhibitor, eutectic cap recharger low : t2 bcu, t2 c0-processor
ceptor will break lock unless he comes within 10k and then comes into web range and then dead. This is not tested but I do believe it's the most/efective/sure way to take down a ceptor in a bomber

I was going to expound on SB's as we have a killer SB squad. Then I realized that its better let people think these ships are a joke or keep fitting webs and micros and the like.
The only inti's we dont wtfbbqpwn are the ones that we've killed already and come back and never stop moving at max speed while we are in local.

Because they are cheap and in the number you get in the tournament they will quickly gank someone and be able to hide/travel somewhere else faster than other roaming gangs. ---------------------------------

Each tool can be effective when used at the right time in the right context against the right problem. I see bombers as an effective ship in specific situations. Coupled with a rapier/huginn, they are lethal against inty pilots who don't check continuously the class of ships they've around. My scanner window is opened at all times during combat...
I also know the case of a geddon taken by surprise which went down in two volleys. Ofc, it wasn't a small bomber gang

And thats the key. We. We have a pretty decent SB wing as well and damn its alot of fun. I would say a good Sb wing is about the most lethal thing out there. The firepower of battleships and 1/3 the cost and virtually invincible if played well as a group.
Solo they are still dangerous but lack the stamina to really go toe to toe like a larger ship would which can make it hit or miss.

but yeah intys can avoid the missiles and with enough skill you can get close enough and orbit fast enough that the cruise will just trail behind, you might even catch up to them

First off...I wouldn't go one on one with an inty in a bomber if you paid me.
Can it be done?...Yes, but you'll have to be close enough for a first strike and he/ fell asleep.
Although they pack massive firepower, bombers are slow and handle like a flying brick...They have no cap power...Not to mention that they are built like rice paper.
But they are truly NOT useless...
In mid to larger sized fleet battles these ships can prove invaluable, especially if used at mid to long range.
While the FC is calling out targets, you sit there and pick off any target you can.
The whole idea is to get lost in the battle....It is not a 1v1 ship

Hmm, 30+ confirmed inty kills and 5 dictor kills with my manticore says a stealth bomber will win or leave at will if in a 1v1 (against a dictor it takes work). I especially love killing gisti crows and sabres because those mwds are nice to flood the market with.

For a 5 1/2 months old character your seem pretty*****y, unless you post with an alt whath would speak volumes about your self-confidence

As someone said earlier if the interceptor goes faster than 6-7km/s the bomber won't deal any damage to it at all no matter how creatively you set it up.
I guess if you have a pack of bombers with enough target painters you could increase its sig size until its hittable but it'll take quite a few painters.
Or you could pack a damp or two and web and see if the inty is stupid enough to come into web+ heat range. If he is then you'll probably kill it. This will most likely just result in the inty leaving however.
Bombers might kill the odd inty pilot without their head screwed on but any Crow pilot in the know will tear any bomber to shreds. [Balance] The Caldari problem. |

No amount of painters will "increase its sig size until its hittable", cause sig has nada to do with explosion velocity. The danger of stealth bomber packs lies in those hostiles in local you dont see. 6 hostiles in local and you have intel of 4 bombers? Expect a arazu and rapier for worstcase scenario.

Is direction relevant to an Inty avoiding a missile's damage? i.e. If an Inty is flying towards a SB does it take full damage? If it does, then an damped Inty can orbit outside its attack range and not get damaged, but it will need to be very careful as soon as it tries to close.
I ask this as NPC frigates die very fast when flying towards my Drake, but take multiple volleys when they are close and orbiting.

that is because of their mwd usage. The direction plays no role.
