On the other hand, I'm beyond enraged when I see other women using their gender in a perverted corruption of its elegance and beauty; they con, swindle, and manipulate men in a fashion only befitting of the basest females of society. I have been called a prude, but surely some of the hostility being flung in my face by men is a direct result of these tramps, who so flippantly toy with very deep-seated urges and emotions? I assure you, gentlemen and not-so-gentle men, that there are those of us who are neither homely nor histrionic, who aspire to grace and poise in all things... even Internet space ships.
Generally speaking, yeah, there is a mindset that if you are female and playing an MMO, you are not attractive. I know better, but any females I meet (if they are truly of the fairer sex) I give a relatively average appearance in my head. Just makes it easier if they all look the same. Then again, I also assume every person behind the toon is a male unless otherwise corrected. This allows me to operate on a professional level without worrying about other distractions.
On your point of harlotry, I think that it's unfair to assume that all women who use their charms are of the basest classification. Only a fool does not use the tools given to him to advance and succeed in life. History is rife with the mechinations of beautiful women who, through a twist of gender fate, could not seize power for themselves and thus used a man to do it for them. I do not begrudge them for that, rather I applaud them. I do not think that it lowers their value as a person, because they are making use of what they have. If anything, I view with contempt the men that can so easily be manipulated. At my age, I see the games for what they are, but ten years ago would have been another matter.
I have a demotivational poster that reads; SEXISM - Only ugly women complain about it. Whether a true stereotype or not is irrelevent (Of course, I have another that says STEREOTYPES - They exist for a reason...take that as you will), and I am actually surprised someone hasn't fired that grapeshot in response to what you posted. Nevertheless, how you view things doesn't make them any more right or wrong then how I view things. If using your tools is abhorrent and offensive to you, then by Jupiter's Crack, don't use them. You can't change others who will use them, to greater or lesser effect. Rather, you should take pride in how you conduct yourself and go about your life.
As for the WGoE, seems like a nice bunch. Visited their channel last night, had a goofy chat with a guy named Deuce and then went about my merry way. The rest of them reminded me of cats when you let the dog in...very wary and quiet, with that lurker mode on. Good times.
