Does EVE TV simply need an infusion of cash? If so, how much are we talking about?

If they need cash a nice big "Donate" button at the top of the evetv website would be good then we can throw our money at them!

From the headline I thought you meant what it lacked and needed to become better.
I'd suggest more stategical analysis, educating people as to what areas are rich in what and who have historical ties where and what group is likely to make a bid for which area in the future.

It doesn't need anything per se, that CCP can't give - cash. And donations are not a viable way of sustaining costs for something like this.
All it needs is for CCP to realise they're making a mistake in canning it and that there *is* enough support for it out there to make it worth keeping. Also, there are ways they could use it better I'm sure (advertising for one) that could do with being explored, but we can all play economists all day and talk about stuff like that; basically, if CCP change their mind to cutting its funding, it's all good.

What does Eve TV need...?
Big boobied chicks in skimpy outfits reporting on ship fitting, economics, and regional strategic forecasting.
But...
Most girls hot enough to qualify aren't smart enough for that. BURN AND DIE

the story is CCP paid out of pocket to keep eve tv alive while they had ads too.
so what's wrong with a donate button? I'll gladly donate 2 bucks a week.
I just won't pay for a episode I can't watch AGAIN without paying a second time.

What Eve needs is a huge advertising campaign of medium sized logo's. These logos could be placed on Nascar race cars or possibly the smaller sprint cars and or dirt bike racing venues.
Just by having these medium sized logos advertising EVE hundreds of thousands of people across the U.S. will see it and wonder what it is, come to web site and generate a hit to the site. Some may even decide to stay and play.

It needs presenters with a scrap of charisma and presence. People who can engage the guests and make the conversations entertaining to all as opposed to just mildly interesting to people who may know/have heard of the guests. I dont know where they got the 2 who present it from but they are terrible. If they are doing it for free then fair enough but surely somewhere in the playerbase there is someone with a bit more charm and va va voom who would do the same thing for free ?
It needs exclusives, news of whats coming straight from the devs so that they can make a feature of it.
It needs to properly interview the guests, not just lick their bums and ask a load of mumbling lame questions.
It needs to be scrapped. Already happened ? - cool

Charisma is good. I agree, charisma is needed. I once watched a video tech blog named Mobuzz, daily. Some of the information on it I'd already heard about, some of it I just plain didn't care about. So maybe 1 story out of 6-7 presented a day, did I find interesting. Not a very good investment in time, but.. the host was funny, animated, and had interesting comments and points of view about the content. I watched it because the host had charm and charisma. When the host quit, I stopped watching it because the new one, was much like the current hosts of Eve-TV. Boring. The Escapist is doing something very similar with Zero Punctuation with what Eve could do with Eve-TV. I don't care about The Escapist, or I didn't, until it started the little videos made by Yahtzee. Now I stick around, read articles on the site, etc. All because they have someone charismatic with an ounce of charm and humor to keep me coming back to it. I really never cared about much of what Eve-TV said, very little of it was new or interesting. But add a few hosts that can comment on that old information in a funny/interesting/new way.. and more people will watch it.

It needs for the guests to be remotely interested in the matches and comment on what's there and what the match offered, not just writing some off as boring just because they were tight and not much blew up, yes I'm referring to our exit vs BoB2 and the apparent coinciding with studio naptime.
You might be cool in your corporation or alliance being the king of AFK and 'whatever's but when coming on as a guest you've better be prepared to say something interesting, inflamatory, biased, I don't care. Too many of the guests seemed to have been dragged there in their sleep and looked completely indifferent.
As for the experts, I wish they had more tools at their disposal designed to make commentating easier but that opens up the issue of peoples trust in these laymen and their vested interest. All in all they work for me, just cut the drinking till after.
