Like many of you, I have flown through the width and breadth of Eve asking myself questions:
"Why did CCP make missiles and active shield tanking so useless in PvP?"
"What is the point of T2 ECM Modules?"
"Who in their right mind would pay ungodly sums of money for fake clothes?"
"Will there be a way to punish potential DUST 514 griefers?" (Targeting friendlies with planetary bombardment?)
I wish to be your voice in Eve. I have tried a little bit of everything Eve has to offer have heard the endless griping on Teamspeak. I know that my contributions will be valid, and, due to my engineering background, I can help the developers with implementation concepts.
My only personal platform would be to find a way for the faction narrative to affect the Eve world. To date, whether or not the Caldari or Gallente are winning and losing has been immaterial to the day to day existence of pod pilots.
I think there should be a mechanism wherein the factions themselves can go to war IN AN ORGANIZED FASHION, take systems, rally, and make heroic stands.
I think organizations such as GoonSwarm, AAA and DRF should have valid reasons to ally or not with the various factions. I think the race of each pilot should hold bearing on the narrative of the game. I think there should be a story that is developed inside the game that players themselves can be a part of, rather than simply reading about it in the chronicles, or in the published books. I would love for game-changing GM participation (Massive Guristas raid on Jita?)
I also think that the tradeoff for this is to leave 0.0 as the wastelands, where big corporations with bad guns are allowed to run each other through.
Simply put, a vote for me is a vote for less clothing, and more pewpew, both in highsec and low. |

Every ship you mentioned is Cruiser or below, with one BC. For most of those kinds of combat, it is the non-DPS modules that make the most difference. When it comes to large ships, Missiles don't hold up to their weapon counterparts.
Active shield tanking requires the use of precious mid-slots, making them that much more hampered against armour tankers that can afford to fit, say, reps and tacklers.
I think you missed the whole message of the race having bearing on the narrative of the game. If you start out as a Gallente, there should be advantages and disadvantages. You are still free to go where you want, but you might, say, pay a much higher tax at a Caldari station, or eve not be able to dock. Nothing you can't overcome with enough effort, but it should affect things. The idea that only initial standings are affected by your choice in race is silly. Really, it dovetails with the idea of the in-game narrative. |

Right...
I think that highsec should have both peace and wartime, with extended fighting (no single-day wardecs) and 0.0 should be the wild west. Less carebear coddling, more fighting.
As for faction warfare, Civilian protection and concerns should play a role (needing them for manned production?)
Each faction should have strengths and weaknesses due to societal configuration (Heavier taxes on Caldari for retraining, but high output if sufficient motivation is provided, devoted output by Amarr, but not really efficient for more complex configurations due to unquestioning religious devotions to existing procedures not leading to innovations in production, etc.).
That way, when a wardec is declared between factions, it will be over real financial concerns, with real objectives, etc.
As war is just an extension of politics through other means, so a wardec between factions would be over diplomatic issues linked to financial motives.
Similarly, if the wardec isn't financially sound, the factions might be willing to capitulate or sue for peace if things got too unprofitable.
I recognize that 0.0 relies on highsec trading and highsec relies on 0.0 moon mining. So they are financially linked. Supply lines have grown organically, and there should be ramifications in 0.0 and highsec if the factions go to war.
Imagine if you were one of the few corporations allied with the faction that could mine freely inside a given faction's space. There would be financial lulz to be had as a result of this linkage.
Remember what happened when Goonswarm shocked the market. How much more if a major disruption between factions is introduced? |

Alavaria Fera wrote:I don't even know if they would let people grief them. Certainly if it was out in Null, would CONCORD come out? I hope not...if some 13-year old screws up sovereignty because his mommy didn't hug him enough, I wanna be able to smite his clone out of existence from on-high.
With Planetary Bombardments.
In a Dreadnaught.
Even better if they use the same Voice system so you can hear twitch gamer tears (the best tears of all). |

I was just disappointed when I couldn't make a 500 pound pod-pilot. I was gonna call him cheeto-eater and everything. The first pod pilot that required butter to squeeze into his pod. |
